Another free hour, but this one can possibly be negative so not sure if it may cause any problems for Agile users..1

They won't "refund" a negative amount to your balance, so you'll be in the same position as you would have been if you didn't opt in. If the price is above zero for either half hour then you'll be refunded what you are charged above your baseline.Newbie_John said:Another free hour, but this one can possibly be negative so not sure if it may cause any problems for Agile users..

In theory a refund of negative value equals a fee 😅 I haven't seen anything in the T&C mentioning this scenario apart from one but saying they'll act reasonable where possible.0

It was asked by someone on Twitter and answered that they wouldn't lose out. Anyway, it won't be tested tomorrow as prices don't quite get down to negative values.Newbie_John said:In theory a refund of negative value equals a fee 😅 I haven't seen anything in the T&C mentioning this scenario apart from one but saying they'll act reasonable where possible.

I'm finding myself quite underwhelmed by the whole thing to be honest - I guess I've become jaded by negative pricing where it is actually worth ramping up everything to actually cover the cost of the other slots. With 'free' electric for just an hour it's a case of just shifting what I would otherwise be doing into that time period but without much in the way of energy guzzling equipment it's not worth a lot.Newbie_John said:Another free hour, but this one can possibly be negative so not sure if it may cause any problems for Agile users..Debt Free Wannabe by 1 December 2027

I suppose it's a fairer scheme, in that any Octopus customer with a smart meter can benefit, rather than just Agile customers having a bonanza. I think it's essentially a bit of nudge marketing to get more people to see the benefits available from smart tariffs.

Predicted Agile pricing looks pretty decent most of next week with lots of cheap daytime slots.
