Just popping in to let you know Dad is v poorly in hospital and it has taken a real battle with the help of my sister to get him the treatment he needs. 😞 He should be living the rest of his life as pain free and dignified as possible and I’m afraid that does not always happen in an nhs hospital. There are some wonderful nurses and doctors and they are woefully under staffed. There are some horrific staff that should not be in the nursing profession. The nhs is in crisis here.He is now being given regular pain medication and the medical team are attending (side effects of terminal cancer). I am beyond shocked at what has happened but do not have the strength to post more info. Hopefully another day or two and he will be home and we may finally get some support and palliative care for him. We are at the hospital 10 - 6 most days. All spends are going on my credit card. I will use my diy pot/emergency fund to pay it off in full when the bill comes. Refund arrived for the dress £20.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Praying for your DF and strength for you SYA. and that DF is home soon ❤️♥️
Beyond dismayed to read the fight you and sister have had to get your DF the help he needs.Your focus is rightly elsewhere at the moment - but if you have opportunity to get the name of the horrific staff at hospital, you can keep your powder dry
take care and rest when you can - gentle hugs to you, DF & sister xxLancashire

So sorry to hear of these battles, it's so unfair (on the good staff as well as the patients and their families), take care of yourself xx"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

I have to say that when I had a brief stay in hospital for a hip replacement everyone was really nice - except !! He was not unpleasant to patients but then he hardly managed to interact with them at all. Because of him another nurse could have landed up injured. I was enough post op that I had managed to get my hearing aids back in. None of us were exactly spring chickens & she had a woman out of bed to change it & her & asked this guy to wait & help her get her back into bed. He was just standing there at the end of the ward. She went back behind the curtain & he walked. She came out to get him to help & just rolled her eyes. A few days after I came home the sister on the ward, that I had never seen, made the mistake of ringing me to ask how it had gone. I told her how great it was & even the food wasn't bad. I almost asked her if she really wanted to know! So I told her what he had done & that I didn't think the nurse would complain because he would accuse her of colour prejudice.Sorry for the rant, but it really wound me up. But it only takes one & it taints everyone.3

Sya, I'm truly saddened to hear this. It's very hard having a family member in hospital, it takes every fibre of your being to survive it. I'm afraid that without an advocate these days, it's a very real risk that the care you should expect for yourself or your loved ones is less than adequate. 😪 But your df does have you and your sister to fight for him thank God. I wish you all every strength and encouragement and hope you can get your dad home for some peace.3

That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Thoughts are with you and your family SYA.
I do hope the required medication has now been given so your dad can be as pain free as possible.
I think this weekend your son is coming over? As much as you're his mum, he's an adult and now is the time to allow yourself to lean on him.
I hope you and your sister have been able to stop battling the hospital and just spend this precious time with your dad x2
