Thank you Suze and KK ❤️

I have been awake since 5am having a bit of a panic about Dads LPA letter. Have found it and now need to park a few things here so I can rest my brain 🤯

Need to get the original LPA from Dad and Phone his bank on their dedicated serious illness phone number to arrange to register it with them so me & my sister can sort Dads finances if / when needed.

My lovely neighbours have been putting my new fence up since Sunday. There are 4 panels left to go up and they have bought the cement they have been using so I need to get £90 from the diy pot to pay them back

They have refused any form of gift or payment for putting it up so I will need to think about something when I have room in my brain.

Most importantly today Dad wants to go to his allotment so I will be going with him. It will only be a short walk and picking a few things. There is a bench so he can sit for a while.

Tomorrow I may go to aquafit. I think I need the exercise and a bit of normality. In the afternoon I will pop to my friends and let her know about Dad. She knows he is ill but Dad hasn’t wanted to tell anyone his diagnosis until last night. It will soon be round the whole village 🙄 but that’s village life

  • The village will be supportive. I agree that doing normal things is very important both for family and the person who is unwell. My mother is currently in hospital but she finds it reassuring that other things are carrying on. So I  keep swimming!! Good for my physical and mental health too.

Good luck with the LPA thing. Once that kind of 'mechanism' is in place you will be able to 'relax' a little more I think.

:) at the kindness and supportiveness of your neighbours. I'm sure once you have the head space you will be able to think of some way to reciprocate, you are good at that kind of thing.

Some time with your friend to process will help sustain you, as will AquaFit and I agree with @Ordinary_Yet_Unique, the village will be kind and it will save you having to explain it multiple times over, which is a whole emotional workload you don't need.

    Sending hugs x

One day at a time sya. What works works,  and what doesn't gets parked. Good idea with getting lpa organised,  it saved me and my sister a lot of hassle when my parents were ill. So glad you have a sister to share things with,  I was so grateful to have mine

It is great you have the LPA in place
Your neighbours sound lovely, but you would be the same. You get back what you give out on the whole.
The exercise will do you good if you can manage it.
    Take care
