Agree with sqs, that's why a diary is so powerful, it helps you keep them accountable to their promises and brings into sharp relief the times between those promises and delivery. You can then confidently say, 'well i was told x on this date and now i want x or a good reason why you haven't'

Thank you both. It’s been widely reported that nearly all nhs hospitals are failing cancer targets. When I rang to chase up my results I was told there is no way to chase them up. It’s hopeless. When I rang to see if there were any cancellations to move my scan earlier they told me they were already overbooked so would not be filling cancellations so no point in me keep ringing. The nurse & PALS said the same. So even keeping records and complaints makes no difference. They say demand is outstripping capacity, which is sad. The only target they are doing well on is patients should start treatment within 31 days of a decision to do so. So if my first results are back by June appointment and it’s official that I need surgery then I should have it within 31 days and the second set of results should be back by surgery date 🙄 They know it’s cancer because the MRI results were back within a week, it’s the biopsy results that are taking so long.

Anyway I had a lovely day with niece and little chap 🥰 we had a walk on the river and lunch in a nearby pub. Cheered me up no end ☺️ Hopefully tomorrow will be dry and I can get some washing done & some gardening.

SYA - only mentioning this as you have said speeding things up w NHS is hopeless. pls feel free to tell me to give my head a wobble re the below.

Is there was anything you could go private for to speed up the timeline? I know it obviously bears a cost. - I’m thinking about that June appt - a private appt can usually be arranged with your existing consultant by searching consultants name to see which private hospital they have clinics available at, and then ring their private secretary once it’s booked in saying you require your scan and biopsy results to be available prior to your appt. Obviously it’s only of benefit if they are able to access your results prior to the appointment.

And then your consultant can swap you back into the nhs system

Like I say please feel free to ignore the above - only mentioning it due to the hopeless to speed up NHS situation.
