Escape to the country & living off savings

glad to see your post SYA - you sound plenty busy! I’ve found thick chip bark to be an excellent weed suppressant for a good couple of seasons. Once it starts to break down the weeds pop through but I tend to just throw another layer of bark on in that case 🤣
Enjoy cuppa with your mate xx

Good morning,
you're busier than a buzzy bee at the moment 😄
I'm hoping to emulate your levels of productivity when I no longer go to work full time but… you have set the bar quite high! I really like the look of bark chips on borders so can imagine how pretty yours are looking.
Hope you enjoy some sunshine today.

Thanks Suze and Arrietty ☺️
Am exhausted 🥱 Stressful drive, maps on phone stopped working half way into city to visit relative. Have never driven there before but managed to pull over and get it back on & arrived safely, dropped off stuff & chat then home again. Was reminded why I don’t go but bit my tongue as dad asked me to.
Went to my friends for cuppa and de-stress. Trying to chill now. D day tomorrow, (distribution day), last day of April and normally payday. Once done I can concentrate on hospital appointment on Friday.

Very well done Sya in navigating the final leg of the journey no one asks to make. Your next priority must be your health and wellbeing. Rest up and soldier on but remember you are the mistress of your own world, there's no better position to be in. You decide what's what and that's that

Wowsers … what a week you are having! Plan some kind of treat for yourself for the weekend?
Well done on holding your tongue. Perhaps you won’t have to see too much of this particular relative going forwards … 😉

Thanks Tresinia, KK & Suze. Unfortunately today has not gone to plan. N West have let me down with wrong advice. First beneficiary paid on the app this morning. I was told the daily payment would reset at 6.30pm, so I could set up the second payment today ready for tomorrow, but it hasn’t. So I can’t pay out to my lovely sister until tomorrow and it won’t hit her account until Tuesday due to the bank holiday 😞 She’s fine about it but I was told it would be a faster payment and it isn’t.
So I am now planning to get to the hospital for 9am, get a cuppa and pay the second payment before I go to my appointment. If the bank hadn’t given me the wrong advice I could have just gone into branch in town today and paid us all at the same time 😞 I offered to go into branch tomorrow and do a faster payment but she told me not to worry and Tuesday will be fine.
Feeling very apprehensive about going back to the hospital where dad was so badly treated. Visited the garden of remembrance today and just sat for a while thinking of mum and dad, listening to the birds with the sun on my face. Was very peaceful.

SYA - so sorry the bank let you down with bad advice. I believe you could write a book about the whole process you have been through. There seem to be so many pitfalls at what is the worst time for them.
As regards the hospital- if you have any concerns at all about the treatment path you are on - please consider speaking to the patient liaison service - PALS. - people can be fobbed off or treated poorly - but there are good people out there who want to help too.
Take pen and paper to make notes and write down any concerns you have and anything you want to mention prior to your appointment.
Garden of Remembrance sounds a lovely place. Will be thinking of you tomorrow ❤️

Thanks Suze ❤️
1st May 😳 where has the time gone, it blows my mind 🤯
Final payments distributed this morning. My lovely sister checked her account online and the money was there already so it must have been a faster payment. I will need some time to process everything now as the money will make a big difference, but I would give it all back in a heartbeat to have more time with my lovely dad. Miss him so much ❤️
