Escape to the country & living off savings

Sya, a new chapter after the death of the remaining parent is inevitable. And not always comfortable. The answer to this , as with everything, is time. Not that we, any of us can rush that. But time to reflect, time to breathe, time to heal. Those of us who have been on this journey with you and know the backstory, know you so need this time now. Losing your dad was quick, this happened to me and I know it's a double edged sword. Good that no prolonged suffering, sad that there just isn't enough time to come to terms with everything emotionally. You were able to say goodbye to him and that will sustain you in the future. But then the practical stuff takes over your life, and as you've found, it's a very very long and brutal journey. No time for the rawness to heal and the new "normal "is such a convoluted journey. Now it's done you must feel like you have fallen down a hole. Your own health now must be your main job. Get that sorted then you can float on the calmer waters ahead xxx

Tresinia has summed it up perfectly. I hope your hospital visit goes well.

Thank you to you all for your support and good wishes ❤️. I am away next week but will let you know the outcome once I know after my next appointment the week after. It’s the waiting that’s difficult as it’s so hard to plan anything.

Thanks jwil and Suze ❤️ I’m sorry I haven’t been posting.
Had a lovely week with DS & gf and dogs. Caught up with friends and weather was lovely. Nice to have a bit of sun on my face
Just before I went I had a mammogram & core biopsy with ultrasound and the day after I got back I had an MRI with contrast. I’m sorry to tell you that I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It does not seem to have spread. I have to have another ultrasound soon to check something on the MRI and then consultants will decide what treatment I need. I have been trying to keep busy to take my mind off worrying but the waiting has been hell. It’s certainly not a two week wait like my GP led me to believe.
So, although we have never met I thank those of you who supported me through the loss of my lovely dad and I will now try to stay positive and post when I can. The money dad left me will make things a little easier. My dad once told me he’d had a lovely life. I’m not ready to give mine up yet.

I was just thinking of you today SYA - Sounds positive that they don’t believe it has spread - and your determination to fight - and your MSE team are all behind you. 💪🏻❤️
In the nicest possible way I reckon you are one of the most determined MSEers I’ve ever known on the forum - you set out to achieve something and that is exactly what happens.
I don’t meant to sound patronising but am also aware it’s not easy to be strong and determined all the time - pls lean on us if ever you need support. You are my favourite lovely lady - hugs and a friendly shoulder here should ever you need it 💞
