2023 - No Craft Spending - I WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

@KajiKita how exciting for you. There's nothing so satisfying as organising cupboards especially when it's craft stuff 🤩.
@Soontobeoap. I dread to think the cost of this wool now. I bought it half price when a local wool shop was closing probably more than 10 years ago. I have lots of chunky and Aran wool in my stash but have hardly any double knitting left. I'm sure I'll get a shock when I have to start buying it. I'm very wary of buying 100% acrylic yarn as it never kept its shape after washing. But that was probably 30 years ago. Maybe it's better now. If anyone can recommend 100% acrylic yarn that washes well I'd appreciate the info.Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order

@plumduff55, You must be so proud of your son ; climbing Mont Blanc is quite an achievement. I’m guessing he’s not new at taking a wee dauner up a hill. That’s a cute wee man bag. I bet your grandson has had great fun with it. The Debbie Shore bag is fab! Is that the zip in the middle of the front? I like that idea. I’m going to have to hunt out the you tube video. Oh my, your cardigan is stunning!
@wraithlady, Your baby blanket is so pretty. I love the lacy edging.
@Florenceem, you’re at factory level output with all your doggy and puss stockings! And your card creativity is producing lovely results.
@sammy_kaye18, my crafting has been only essentials (with extra cards in some cases to use up topper sheets)for the last 2 months. I don’t have the good reasons you have, I’m just going through a lazy spell. ☹
@KajiKita, That’s brilliant! I remember being just as excited when II furnished my craft room with stuff I found on ebay and gumtree. I got a G Plan gent’s wardrobe (1 side hanging and the other had 2 drawers in the middle and shelves, and one door has a hanging rail, intended for ties). I got just the table I wanted, with a narrow middle section and 2 long drop leafs, so it folds down quite neatly. My craft room doubles a spare bedroom with a bed settee, so I needed things that could fold down. I have to warn you, though, that although I have 3 other good sized cupboards and shelving, My crafty habit still fills half a wardrobe and 1 chest of drawers in the other spare bedroom and the under bed space in our room!

Well, at the end of May my plans for June were -
knit 3 butterfly/bowtie scarves Nope! I looked out the wool, does that count?
some of my ‘forgotten’ tapestry Nope, not a stitch!
5 Christmas cards, diamond wedding card No Christmas cards.
get back to work on small library quilt hanging Nope! Didn’t even look it out.
What did I do in July?
No knitting or crochet.
I made 1 gift bag and I bag to hold the 8 lights I bought to hang outside. That was a daft idea as in summer here it’s light till late and the lights aren’t needed.
1 birthday card, 1 anniversary card (for husband - 52 years on 6th August), 4 general cards and 7 Christmas cards.
I forgot to photograph some things.
Plans for August crafting _ you never know, I might get something done, probably not much this week as we’re having a few days away.
Woollies – a turtle matching game (crochet) for a a friend who works in a nursery (I did have to buy wool for this as it’s Aran, which I haven’t used in yonks.
Sewing – birthday gift bag
Cards – birthday card, Christmas cards

@greentiger 😊
One the things I will be doing as part of this whole project is reviewing all my books (fiction, gardening as well as crafting) and getting rid of those that don’t bring me a spark of joy when I open them ….
It will be interesting to see how much crafting stuff I end up with once it is all in one place. I have a nasty feeling there will be some serious duplication of kit going on, as I haven’t been able to find things through the years …. Ahem!Love those cards 😊 And the outdoor lights? You were just getting ahead and organised, weren’t you?! 🤔😉😊
@plumduff55I knew people here would get why I am so excited about an old wardrobe …. 😉😂
Hoping this will drive new, more constructive habits this winter, with crafting instead of social media’ing!

@Florenceem, these are lovely! Just out of curiousity, how long are these and what do you charge for them? I was trying to think of something I could do to raise money for an organisation that my daughter is involved with and something along these lines might be the answer (please feel free to PM me if you don't wish to say publicly).Florenceem said:plumduff55 - lovely bag.
I finished 3 bone shape stockings - 2 have gone in post.

olgadapolga - the bone shape stockings are 17 inches long - I am charging £5. I have fabric in my stash to use as linings - I would charge more if I bought that as well as the outer fabric. I pay for the fabric as part of my tithe to SA so they get all the sales money.

Thanks so much @greentiger ! Much appreciated!
I certainly don't feel like I have much crafting energy right now 😅6 -
5 more stockings made today.
Then I had a play on the sewing machine that arrived - present for DGd - very impressed with it.

6 more pet Christmas stockings finished. I don't think that I have been so organised/far ahead with my Christmas makes before.
I have all the orders bagged ready for collection.
I have ordered some bulb/gourd shape pins from Ali for price labels.
