Don't tell him but this afternoon the boys and I found a spirit level, a thing that beeps if there's a wire in the wall, a drill and added a wall plug and a screw without electrocuting ourselves so that we could hang a picture. Morning all, happy Thursday.
WFH today thank goodness as slept straight through from 9.30 ish to 6am. I was really tired yesterday though. Also the final day of the working week for me as on leave tomorrow.
The first of the regular savers has matured today resulting in £107.97 interest so that was really worth doing! Just waiting for the other two now at the end of the month.
The flooring bloke and the painter came at the same time yesterday. Unfortunately it looks like DD's floor will need boarding over as the floorboards under her carpet aren't the best. We ended up having every floor in the house boarded over so this will be the last one. He's going to come and look at the floorboards again once the carpet is up and give two quotes for with boarding and without, also different qualities of vinyl. I do wish Mr SA wouldn't chip in with his comments as he asked the flooring bloke why he couldn't just fit the vinyl over the carpet 😬 The painter had another look at the rooms I want painting and I decided to let him get the paint as he's getting it from the same trade place I was going to get it from and he can get a discount.
I have a feeling that the flooring and painting are going to be more than I estimated!
Money wise, apart from the regular saver maturing, it will be another NSD. I need to go to Lid! to return the trolley thing I bought last Friday as it's not sturdy enough for what I need it for - I can do that in the morning though while Mr SA waits in for the skip.
Today's exercise will be dog walking later this morning, stretch & tone at lunchtime and Zumba at 5.30.
Tonight's dinner is another new recipe from The Green Cookbook - Roasted Tofu and Aubergine.
Major task of the day around working will trying desperately to get loads and loads of washing dry. The sheer amount of laundry I have to get dry is really getting me down. Even using the heated airier and the dehumidifier doesn't seem to be touching it. I got some washing almost dry at the weekend and it just doesn't seem to want to finish off. Even pegging out on dry days the air just seems too damp to dry it. Doesn't help when Mr SA and DD are constantly filling the laundry basket with their big heavy clothes. I really need a dryer but not sure where it could go now I'm going to move my desk into the spare room.
I need to make a plan for clearing the rooms ready for the refurb starting on Monday. I think tomorrow it will be clearing the spare room, giving it a good clean then moving my desk into there. DD is off tomorrow so can make a start on her room although she's not allowed to lift anything heavy. I'm hoping DS will be able to get on Saturday to help with the heavy stuff. So stressful but it will be worth it in the end.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Hi SA I binged reading your diary whilst I was on holiday…. In Ibiza. I literally got to the photos of when you were there and realised we were about 10 mins away from your hotel. The bad news it was the day before we were leaving so didn’t get to go to the sunset bar, it looked fabulous but we’ll hopefully go again and certainly aim to catch a sunset.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

The skip is here, it's a bit smaller than I thought it would be, I think I usually have a builders skip. Hopefully everything will fit in, Mr SA is already making a start on filling it., I've told him to be careful how much he puts in as there's quite a bit to go in it including DD's carpet and the dining room flooring. If need be I can leave the treadmill and bike out either for someone to take or get the council to pick them up (which will be cheaper than getting another skip).
I've had the quote back for the flooring and it's very reasonable even including the boarding. He brought two different flooring quality samples with him and there's only £40 difference between the mid and top range ones and the difference is quality is very noticeable so I'm going to go with the top of the range one.
Just waiting for the painting quote now.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
I don't suppose there's any chance of Mr SA or DD (when recovered) doing a launderette run once a fortnight?
Glad the quotes are reasonable and the skip has arrived. Def leave the treadmill and bike out for people to take, no point you paying for skip space if someone can make use of them4
