It must keep him busy for hours 😅 How about putting empties in front, then it will be impossible to get to the full ones without leaving a mess and evidence?
Great idea 🤣 Years ago when DS used to pinch his beer Mr SA used to slightly open them, drain the contents then fill them with water 🤣

He knows he’s been rumbled so he’s being good tonight. I think it’s boredom more than anything.

It’s me who has to deal with the aftermath otherwise I’d just let him get on with it.

Sorry to hear about this, it must drive you round the bend.

Could he either run out (ie. you simply buy so many and when they're gone, they're gone) or if he has beer in bottles, is there any way to fill them with water instead? Or vinegar, juice or whatever?

We had a bottle of wine once that DS2 was convinced someone had sabotaged and filled with r!bena in the shop, and I think he might have been on to something because it certainly didn't taste like alcohol!

Oh dear.  Mr SA is like a dog with a bone. Such a shame as he's definitely better on the accident front when he drinks less  :(

  • Awww - I'm so sorry to hear this SA. ☹️. As you say you're only restricting him for his own good and it's you who has to clean up the mess afterwards. I really feel for you as you sound especially down today.
I know you've said before he refuses to go to respite but is there any way that you could book yourself away for a few days - something like a spa to relax and destress and arrange for some carers to come in and stay?  You could then block his blinkin' number for the weekend because we know he'll keep pestering you. And perhaps bring DS into play then too?  I know you don't like bothering him but is he aware of how much stress you are under every day?  You are an extremely capable woman and perhaps DS hasn't realised this?

You really do put up with so much from MrSA.  Really sorry that you felt so fed up the other day.
Would low or no alcohol beer fool him?  Or is it the sheer volume of fluid intake that causes the accidents?
and you've got the England game to look forward to this afternoon 🙃

Ideally I'd like it if he went somewhere for a day at least so I could just enjoy some time to myself at home. I can get a break from him for part of a day when I go to work/meet friends, the only way I can get some respite from him is if I go out.

No he wouldn't be fooled. You know what lager is like for straight in, straight out. The amount he'd cut down to was working well I don't know why he feels the need to creep it back up again. I think more than anything he likes to think he's hoodwinking me.

He hasn't mentioned the match, he probably doesn't know it's on.

  • I've got banana bread in the oven, thanks. I much prefer the recipes that specify a peeled weight.

Glad you are feeling better.  It's not trivial wanting to stop things that make life harder.  I can understand the desire just to have some quiet time at home without having to go out all the time.
