I always have a penknife in my handbag, also a screwdriver & scissors - I don't travel abroad, which is just as well, as it wouldn't occur to me to take them out beforehand!

I once had my eyelash curlers confiscated at the airport when they first started the extra security measures. I mean seriously what did they think I was going to do with them 🤣

That's hilarious, SA! The scans are incredibly sensitive: I got stopped at airport security for what turned out to be a sewing needle I'd bought and put in my purse so it wouldn't fall out of a shopping bag.

I also did my homework on what various airlines permitted so I took bamboo knitting needles on a long haul flight. At the other end - Australia - I had to declare them as it counts as importing biological material.

I'm going to sit up late wondering what they thought you'd do with eyelash curlers.

I had tweezers confiscated from mine! Not sure what they thought I would do with those either.

Well I use my tweezers to remove those hairs that were never there until I hit my 70s, so maybe they were afraid their grandmas were going to look like their (well certainly younger) other people.
