Morning all, happy Thursday.
WFH today and another nice sunny start to the day. Going to try to tick off as many things from my work to do list as possible today. It's just that other people keep adding things to it!
Also need to make a holiday to do list as running out of days.
Today's exercise is dog walking later this morning, a lunchtime Pilates session and Zumba at 5.30.
Tonight's dinner is stir fry, got loads of veg to use up by Monday.
It will be NSD 4 of April, will realistically only get maybe one more this month. There certainly won't be any happening on holiday!
Did a quick check of finances, paid off the cc balance again and sent an oddment of £6.70 to the Christmas pot.
The scooter shop are coming to visit Mr SA today about his new scooter. He's had a letter from Motability and they need the old scooter back by next Friday. The shop will have to pick it up Monday and deliver the new one when we get back. Mr SA is going to ask for a slightly smaller scooter as the current one is way too big and limits where we can go with it. It's great for going on the park but a nightmare to take anywhere indoors.

You’d think that would be a basic question they asked scooter users, whether they could park up outside shops and walk in or if they’d need to be able to drive in. I hope the collection and new delivery goes smoothly when it happens. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Just be aware of the fact that the smaller scooters can sometimes be a bit less stable, in our experience at least. Dad briefly had a smaller one which would have been far more practical for when he wanted to use public transport and suchlike, but was also inclined to tip over - and he wasn't a large chap at all. I seem to recall you've mentioned that Mr S A is a bigger gent, so he may face even more problems with a higher centre of gravity.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I have a travel corkscrew that lives in my makeup bag, I've had it for decades and can't remember where it came from, but it has come in very handy many times.
Could you persuade DD to join you in your meditations, it's really helped DH's anxiety (when he remembers to do it).
I went to pick up currency from Sainsbobs, only to find I'd brought DH's passport, doh! Fortunately the assistant used her discretion after talking to her manager and let me have it. I think it was my declaration of "oh !!!!!!" that convinced her I was genuine.
I'm a red head who attracts mozzies and midges. I got bitten two days before we went to Cyprus... not a thing in Cyprus. I've started to put anti-mozzie wrist bands on every day. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?2 -
Ooh - you've reminded me - I had the plaited leather style wrist bands for holiday last year and they worked great for me. Hopefully the remains of the pack will still be OK as they are sealed into their plastic pouch - even if they have lost some of their pungency they ought to be OK for us this year at the time we are going as the midgies will be less active. In our house it's MrEH who mainly gets bitten - so as long as he is with me I'm mostly left alone! (And NOTHING less than the most heavy duty repellent makes any difference to him at all!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I don't normally get bitten, Mr RS tends to get them worse, but last year we both had to apply loads of heavy duty mozzie spray in France. We were both being eaten alive.
Can't remember what the spray was called that they gave us but it worked a treat, as did the stuff they gave us to apply to where we had already been bitten. That was like a little roller ball applied liquid. It was so soothing.1 -

New scooter is sorted. He's had to have the same model again as there aren't really any smaller ones suitable for him. He needs to have solid tyres and the smaller ones often don't have them. The one he was thinking of had a canopy for when it rains but they said it's a lot smaller and he'd struggle to fit his legs on it comfortably with him being tall. It was also a lot more money a month. They suggested he came to the shop on Saturday to test a few out and he jumped at the chance as it's in the town we went to the other week. I had to reason with him and said it's a long way to go on the off chance and will take a massive chunk out of a day I could really do without losing time on. I still have to do the packing, gardening, cleaning, etc and am running out of time especially with me working right up until the last minute.
Anyway the upshot is he's getting a newer version of his current scooter in a different colour. So he's happy with that. They will drop off the new scooter the day after we get back from holiday and pick the old one up at the same time so he won't be without one.
@satchmo1 DD would rather die than meditate it's really not her thing. I struggle with it to be honest.
Mr SA uses the mozzie wristbands, spray and a clicker thing that you have to put on as soon as you notice the bite which is really good.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
