Express Mobiles/ Yes mobiles out of business?

I had to jump through hoops to get even the first cashback payment but even though I have mailed them scanned images of my billes for the last year, I have had no more money. I have had various lame excuses such as "waiting for new chequebooks" and infuriating replies like "we are processing claims in the order in which they are received" - even though they received the first of mine nearly 12 months ago.

I have tried trading standards but they intimate that they are beyond the law. Can we not as a group approach an MP or newspaper with our combined evidence?

I am meeting with my MP on Saturday with my 2" thick file!. I have e-mailed him a synopsis of the matter so that he could read it before the meeting, so will let you know how I get on. Orange are still threatening to send in the debt collectors!

Just found this newspaper review on Express/Yes mobile and thought you all might want to see the face of the person responsible for this scam.

I bet he is just laughing at us all knowing that there may be something we could do through the legal system but we don't know how. He gets warnings by the law etc. but he still carries on. I think we should do what citizens of other countries (e.g Thailand, Tibet, China) do and that is to protest right to the man himself, all we are doing now is speaking and not being heard! I have been lucky enough to downgrade my contract with O2 to £15 a month after 3 months as I told them about Express and they did that out of good will. But I am still fed up that he can still carry on trading! We have his Address, we can protest right up to his front door and he can't do anything, he doesn't own the pavement! I live in London and I would be more than happy to drive up to his place and stay there all day, at least we can let all his neighbours and everyone around there know what he has been doing to all of us! We need to get our own back on him! If it makes the news it would really be the icing on the cake! I would be more than happy to start the facebook group for all of us together!

I visited my MP at his surgery today. He is going to write to Orange to see what can be done. He thinks it is disgusting that anyone can start up a Company, go into liquidation and then start up again using a different name. I will keep you updated.

i know how you all feel i had my first cheque back but that was it nothing else they owe me £720 at present by the end of this month it will be £960 and i really cant afford to loose nealy a grand i would never have taken out the 2 contracts if i wasnt gonna get the cheques back

Is the number for business phones direct which is the new company set up by our slippery friend mr GARETH BIRKETT . I suggest phoning him until he provides answers for our problems.
I would be up for a protest if anyone else is. Ive lost nearly £1000 is this scam set up by him and am not happy!

I have just rang this number and a lady called Claire answered the phone, I asked to speak to Gareth Birkett, and she tried to put me through to him, then she said he was out of the office,
Then she asked if she could help and I asked her if Gareth was going to pay back the cash to express mobile customers, she said she knew nothing about express mobiles, I told her that I didn't believe her, she said she was new to the company.My phone number was taken and she is going to ask Gareth to phone me. will let you know if and when he phones.


I think we should all phone the 08001986666 number and pester Gareth Birkett.

Is it absolutely certain that Gareth Birkett is the director behind all of these [strike]scams[/strike] businesses? As I understand it, it would only take one person with that amount owed, to petition for GB to be declared bankrupt - is this correct? I'm owed (only) £360 so I couldn't do it

I have received a letter from Orange which states "The contract was supplied through Carphone Warehouse, Unit 30 Broadway Shopping Centre, Hammersmith, London, W6 9YD"

I am now writing to The Managing Director of carphone warehouse enclosing a copy of that letter, and giving them 14 days to pay up. I think we should all do the same. Perhaps they will then take notice.

I know they say they are not responsible, but surely they must take some responsibility if they allowed their name to be used by Express Mobiles to scam us into taking out contracts.
