Express Mobiles/ Yes mobiles out of business?

I have just been on the phone to Orange to cancel my contact I have 2 months to go (I am on month 16).
Orange have offered me a new contract with a phone upgrade, 400 minutes and unlimited text for £10.00 a month. This will be a new 20 month contract the last2 months I Will have to pay £20.00.
So I have changed and I am going to write off the last payment. I will carry on fighting for the last £120.00 owed from Yes-mobiles. I am one of the lucky ones as Yes-mobiles owe me £120.00 all my claims have been paid apart from the last one which I will fight for.
This new deal was too good to pass by as I still need a phone .:j :j0 -

I have cancelled my direct debit but I keep getting bills and they are threatening to send in the debt collectors. I have written to them but they are ignoring my letters even though I send them either Special Delivery or Recorded delivery and I know they are received.0 -
If you read this thread in its entirety you will see that to the phone companies the contractual position is very clear. The cash back contract was with EM and your contract for supply of phone services is with Orange, O2 etc. If you cancel your direct debit they will treat you as a defaulting client and follow their usual process i.e. debt collection, black marking your credit record etc.
Best approach is to phone the phone service supplier and see if there is a way you can reduce your tarriff etc.
I know this is frustrating but it would appear that no one is sufficiently motivated to take the phone companies on regarding this, because the legal costs would be so large that they would dwarf any costs of the phone contract.
If this was the US then you might get a class action going on a no win, no fee basis.0 -
hi, samsmum, HOW did you manage to get all, well, most of your cashbacks?
i find it incredible! can you please expand a bit more. cheers and thanx for your post.:T0 -
mmm had a quick look at this thread and it bought back bad memories of mobile outlet that went bust last year. The same lead up problems with cashback claims, delayed payouts etc. It surprises me to see that Phonescompare still show Mobile Express on their comparison site...............0

I did the same as everyone else put my claim in for the cash back after 3 months. The 1st claim came back with no problem then the next claim was done with threats with the trading standards.
The last 2 were done with small claims court.
The last claim has not been paid back to me yet, I will carry on fighting for this.
If you phone orange they will lower your tariff.
When I spoke with Orange yesterday they asked why I
didn't ask for the tariff to be lowered, I didn't want to make any changes to the contract as I wouldn't be able to claim back the cash, now any more cash back is looking like it is not going to happen, that is why I have changed my contract to the one above.
How much longer do you have to go on your contract Wavefinder.0 -

Don't hold your breath though.0 -
Express mobiles currently owe me £360 having completed 11 months (12 months in 3 days) and I have not had a single cheque back. Is anyone still making successful claims or have I been totally conned, being too late and not chasing hard enough for what they owe me?0

I sent my last 3 months invoice in, in July and have not heard anything. I re sent the claim in in the middle of August and resent it a week ago the last time it was sent the email address returned the email saying email failed.
I guess that the email address is no longer usable.
What is it with the email address and the web page going, do you think they are no longer contactable.0
