  • I cannot believe that this has been on watchdog last year and courtcase in Sept. I took up the contract in September, more precisely 7th of september...

    I feel slightly stupid...

and in regard to the http://www.businessphonesdirect.co.uk
Then I have tried to call them but they naturally refuse any knowledge of express mobiles and yesmobiles and Telco...on one number, when I then tried a different number for telco, the same lady picked up and quite supprised it was me again. However she doesnt introduce herself as Telco or Businessphonedirect..just her name...
  • The only way to deal with this is by continuing to make public what has happened. Remember, the more people the write the more chances of search engines picking up the negative publicity. Carry on e mailing Telco as the express mobiles have stopped with e mail.
Send to as many companies as possible. Let Carphone Wharehouse know and just continue pesting them and the networks.
inform Orange and o2 about the link with Businessphones direct and Telco.

We should also continue sending e mails to BBC watchdog , Trading Standards and any newspaper and any forum. Always mention the link between the companies.

The other idea which cropped to mind was a Facebook group and get as many members to join similar to Wrapit.
Lastly, keep on calling the 0800 number on http://www.businessphonesdirect.co.uk it costs nothing and they end up forking the bill
  • I've been reading posts here for a couple of months now, and am in the same boat. I like the ideas of group actions, like the facebook idea.

Would it be too much to make a protest to Gareth Birkett directly at his home address? We could all continue to send him old broken mobile phone parts for example, requesting that he actually be straight with us and talk to us. Or we could do the same to the businessphonesdirect office.

If we made a clear request for dialougue and openly signed it, whilst pestering them with junky phone parts in the post (or similar) until they are honest with us...

That will be pointless, they pay a flat fee each month for the 0800, they don't pay per call received.
  • I don't know if this would help anyone to contact Mr Gareth Edward Birkett - this link to the FSA website may provide another place to contact him.

Polite and persistant letters requesting a public explanation of what has happened to Express Mobiles?

Does anyone think this is a bad idea?

With reference to the 0800 number they will pay a per minute rate for each call they take, if you really want to make them pay call them from a phonebox as they pay a surchage for this plus the per minute rate

Is anybody still sending in their bills for chequeback?
If so what email address are people using?

For everyone's info, as of today (21st Aug) Gareth Birkett has resigned his Directorship from Business Phones Direct. Wonder where he will pop up next?
  • I had a dream last night. I dreamt that Gareth Birkett was working as a human organ smuggler on the Korean peninsula. Except in the dream he had just smuggled a package of what turned out to be chickens feet in batter, which no-one wanted. Poor Gareth.
  • hi, has anyone actually cancelled their direct debit on these contracts. and if so what sort of response did you receive?
after 12 months and £500 plus and only one cashback i am just about to cancell mine as i don't believe orange and threats of bailliffs, blacklists, court cases letters from debt recovery gangsters and all! ENOUGH!
their cust service is absolutely bloody awfull!
    any opinions folks?
anyway cheers and have a good bank holiday!

there is no forthcoming cashbacks is there! i think we all know that
