So I tried emailing but no reply after a couple days. Decided to phone and they told me I had to do it via some links they sent on email.  Not possible to do gas tracker... Says call or email us!!! Bit useless.

Started agile switch for electricity, and it says next step is for them to book my meter exchange, but I have SMETS2 smart meters... So dunno what is going to happen with that!!

Must admit I thought it would be easier from the other comments here! Fingers crossed they get back to me in time and it works out.

This is just a part of the system... it will figure out it's getting 30m data for you and sent you the terms acceptance email which triggers the switch soon. Otherwise, you can prod them on twitter DMs and they can accelerate that process so you're done today if you want.

Twitter DM worked for me.  They replied within a couple of hours stating that they had sent me an email with a link to complete the switch process.  I was switched to v3 Tracker the same day.

That's the problem though. They've sent me a link to sign up, which is just to the tracker page on their website, and when I tick the boxes and click sign me up - it says 'energy prices are at an all time high we recommend you stay with your current supplier'. So I click the 'yeah I know sign me up anyway' and it says no. Call us or email us.... Maybe they sent me the wrong link or something

Slightly after the last post, I got the email regards t&C's, so it figured that out on its own as the poster said it would. so I'm on Agile at least.

Does anyone know the new October unit and SC rates, as Ofgem still keep quoting useless average total cost figures.

Yes for some reason some of the staff are still seemingly unaware of correct procedure for switching customers to tracker tariff, they either have to give you a quote, you reply and they change tariffs or they give account specific quote switch link for T+C to be accepted.

Based on Cornwall insights I'm going with 12.5p gas and 42p elec

I'm not sure why people keep perpetuating the myth that Octopus aren't accepting new customers. They have never stopped, they just require a phone call. I'd also suggest that Go is currently the cheapest fix out there, as long as you have an EV.

Personally I dont know anyone with an EV, so I dont know if its a common thing, I dont think I have even witnessed an EV ever drive by me in the street either.  Isnt it something that only the wealthier part of the population would own or is there cheap EV's to buy?  I think realistically Agile is their cheapest tariff as its available to everyone not just a select few EV owners.

Thanks am on the tariff now, its certainly a decision of discipline as have to accept for 3 months be slightly down on the cost, but after that it should be all gains for the 9 months.

I see for tomorrow its showing some discounted electric for several hours as well.
