Anyone who has dual nationality might want to note that it asks you to confirm you are a UK citizen and then asks if you are also a national of any other country. As I am, I entered the relevant country, but it then said I could not apply as they are only accepting account holders who are UK resident. That makes no sense, because they did not ask about residence and this is not the same thing as citizenship.
As they appear to interpret the answer as meaning you are not UK resident, which is an incorrect inference for me, I went back and changed my answer to say UK citizen only. It seemed perfectly happy for me to change this and happily carried on.I am a dual UK-US citizen, and I had no problems signing up. You are supposed to select both the UK and your other citizenship on that screen.0 -
Took me about 15 minutes from start to finish, including trial payment of £1 to the Easy Access savings account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & investments, and Budgeting & Bank Accounts boards. Thanks. I must be having a bad day. I've linked my HSBC account to out money into the current and savings account. But I want to link my current account so I can withdraw money from that account to HSBC. But I can't see how to.
Forget this comment. I've worked it out. It's been a very very long day 😂0 -
I opened the accounts without any issues. Using on a iPhone. Has anyone noticed if there is a log out option on the app?
I could not see any log out option. If I move to another Apple app and use that and then come back to the Chase app it is still open. Also if I close the screen and then re-open the Chase app is still open. Not ideal.0 -

I could not see any log out option. If I move to another Apple app and use that and then come back to the Chase app it is still open. Also if I close the screen and then re-open the Chase app is still open. Not ideal. When I open multiple other apps, the Chase app automatically closes in the background and I have to log in again. When I swipe up on the iOS app switcher screen to force close the Chase app, I have to log in again. At least on my iPhone 13, the Chase app works the same in this regards as the HSBC app. Since you need to get all of the debit card details from the app when paying online, being able to switch between the app and another app, like safari, is actually nice. In that scenario, having to constantly log in would be irritating.1 -
Thanks FB13 - really appreciate your prompt reply. That makes perfect sense now you have explained it. Using the swipe up on the iOS app switcher screen closes the app so that works for me. Many thanks.0

I had no problem with transferring my first deposit into the savings account. I had to go through a 30 minute telcon with the RBS fraud team first (I have no problem at all with that), but once they were satisfied, the transfer went through within a minute.0

We opened both Chase Current and Saver accounts yesterday for both myself and partner with no issues.
We then did a £1 transfer to all of the accounts with no issues, I then did a £20k transfer into my Saver account and then this morning I did another£20k transfer from my Virgin account and all of the larger transfers appeared in Chase Save in about 60/90 minutes; so no complaints other than working within the daily £ limits set by the bank funds are being transferred from but I also appreciate the reasons why even if a little frustrating at the time.
It's crazy to say but I get quite excited when I check MSE daily updates and to then see Chase offering 1.50%; Covid-19 led to me being made redundant after 27yrs with the same company I now seem to spend my time cooking, baking and checking MSE interest rates and opening/closing accounts and updating our Financial Tracker sheets1 -
Quick question to all that have opened this account recently
do they ask for photo ID check on EVERY application? Or is it just for some people?0 -
