It's been a good turtle day:
- Dizney have refunded £40 to my account after I complained to them about the poor service I got for my £40 Dizney phone app upgrade while on holiday
- MIL won £65 Tezco vouchers and gave them to us to buy DS school supplies for starting school in August (turtles - any recommendations on what a 5-year-old really needs for starting school?)
- MIL & FIL also brought DS a large bag of coins they've been saving in the biggest piggy bank I've ever seen! I took all the coppers to one of those coin machines. I know they charge but I just couldn't see myself spending £15 worth of pennies. There's also a bag of 10s and 20s that I think I'll do the same with.

Good evening 🌖
Is nice to be back on and hearing about everybody's comings and going. Sending hugs out to those poor people who had the house fire f0xh0les - as you say - it puts things in perspective. I try and imagine what it must be like for the people in Ukraine who have lost everything.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Having a roof over my head - a home to call my own
2) Job security (as bad as it gets some days)
3) Food on my table and shelter from the elements
Today was an NSD day. I also experienced 'Boodles' - butternut squash noodles! Needed a hefty dose of butter and black pepper to make them interesting! They didn't quite hit my comfort eating binge requirements I'm afraid haha - but they did fill me up! That was today's random experience!
Have a nice evening folks!⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

A sunny day, with a cool breeze. Had a great day at work, near the end of the day, along with a colleague, we took some children outside, I split them into teams & got them to do relays, I showed them 4 times how to do the different tasks, so I've had some exercise lol
Felt tired on my way home, but didn't have a nap, instead I unpicked a very long zip, then after tea, I replaced the zip. Had a lovely bath afterwards.
Grateful for hot water, a good day at work, laughterUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

Trying to do at least one thing per hour (I'm allowed to rest for the rest of the hour). Most of the bedding has now been accommodated in the drawers, the suitcase (quilt that won't be needed until winter - only a single but useful to put over my legs and feet to keep warm and cover any gaps) and the top of the wardrobe (the 2 huge wool winter quilts, bound with gorilla tape).
Moved one row of books onto the newest set of shelves in here (had put lots on the other shelves when I was just trying to make room for more stuff and the top shelf was rather overburdened).
Went to the bank and paid the final hone bill for mum's, carried on to the shopping centre and bought my puzzle book and a gardening magazine with lots of seeds. Quite interested in the 2 for £5 books - lots in series I like but didn't buy as I wanted to check which I already have. Went in cheapo crafty shop and did succumb to book bargains - £10 each for 2 sets of 6 books, have read some from the library (only 1 of the series in one case) plus an embroidery book reduced to £2 (simple but interesting designs) and £1.50 for an A4 notebook (for my plans and dreams).
Ventured into the market, found my pot herbs and and a different mix labelled 'winter veg' (again all chopped up ready to use/ eat raw). We only have one veg stall on the market now - used to be a whole row (1/4 of the stalls) at the old market and there were at least 5 last time I went there.
Came home to eat and because I'm trying to avoid going up and down stairs, I filled the dishwasher, filled the washer and set them both off and went outside - planted 6 fruit bushes and two pots of seed potatoes plus bits of tidying/ weeding and filling bins. Sun was very hot and I was very tired so felt I'd earned my rest.
I've also worked out an exercise I can do to help my circulation. 'Bicycling' exercise with just one leg - the good leg stays bent at the knee with my foot flat on the bed so I have a good steady base. Reasonable range of movement bicycling the damaged leg.
Grateful for fruit bushes, the way I've set up that side of the garden so I can plant without bending or standing for too long, sunshine (need to start antihistamines and sun cream), an appointment and a letter aking me to set up another appointment, good UC interview. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -

Starting to think I’ll struggle too much from April with all the price rises, to continue overpaying my cards to achieve my DFD. I will see what my pay is on 1st April and go from there.Grateful for:
DS having a good night at cubs
Wales winning their footy match

Evening
Lost my NSD as spent 60p on some SnV rice cake snacks; they were nice though
Worked 12 hours in the office. Had a stressful morning as we called an ambulance for a colleague who came back to work after covid and felt unwell - breathless, shaky, pale/sweaty. All checks were ok and he stayed in work but went home early, i walked to the car park with him.
Had a walk when i got home, have done 14k steps. Eaten well.
Gratitudes - almost Friday been a long week; kindness of colleagues; DD1 leaving me some flowers as an early mother's day gift

ldee - aldee and liddle also do uniform which is super cheap - always buy double what you think you need! . It'd be hard for me to spend all the money on 'school supplies' in tesc0 as, age 4/5, kids don't need anything other than uniform. Not even a pencil case! However, you could maybe use the same amount of money on uniform/shoes/trainers and use the tesc0 vouchers for food...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6
