Hi all
Thanks for the good wishes. Felt quite rough yesterday morning and glad to be WfH. Keep testing negative and felt better later on so went to PT job #2 in the eve. Got a payrise of 23p per hour! Called at SM on way home & found cat food that was 20p a box less than in my local SM so bought a couple of boxes. Had a nice phone chat to DD2.
Esmeralda - I also give up on books I'm struggling with and I like JoJo MoyesAlso like Jodi Picoult but she tackles some upsetting issues in some of her novels, I'm reading her latest for my next book group
ditty - sorry you are struggling, hugs .
Hugs to anyone else who is struggling.

Good morning everyone ⛅
Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and well wishes. My mini-mental health blip 🤪 turned into a nose-dive into the murky waters of despair and depression!!! Fortunately - I had a week off from work (trigger) but then that time-out gave everything else to do with Mum chance to creep up on me. Amidst grieving for her and acceptance that she isn't coming back (at least not as I remember her), plus all the hassle at work - I just unplugged from everything.
Any yet...Somehow... My ability to spend money never left me haha!!! I'm never *so* depressed I can't do that 😒😆
So 2 weeks on I am feeling brighter, and have had chance to do a little re-boot (again!!! Is that a re-re-re-boot now???). My eating has been back on track the last few days, and I've made it to the gym. I've just balanced the budget to assess how much damage my emotional-fueled spends have set me back! Luckily it was mostly just food spends and nothing overly extravagant.
However - I think I can safely assume I'm over budget haha - and I've lost track of my NSDs. So for the rest of this month I'm relegating myself to cheerleading duties 🎉
Have I missed much? I hope everyone is ok and thriving!!! (I'll catch up on everything bit by bit - I couldn't face 20 pages in one hit just yet!!!)
Today I am grateful for:
1) Having had a week off to recharge
2) This forum to come back to
3) My gym for keeping me sane
Today = NSD number I haven't a clue!
Have a lovely afternoon x

Hugs to everyone who needs them!
Had a good day today, went for a swim first thing and then a quick trip to the doctors, will need to collect my prescription but won't be able to do so until Friday as I'm in the office tomorrow and Thursday. Had a dentist appointment at lunchtime, no filling needed but do need to buy a couple of bits as my teeth are sensitive. Popped to buy some eggs afterwards and ended up buying lunch from a local place as the sun was out and the benches outside just looked so inviting!
I still seem to have too much money, which is never a bad thing and I shouldn't complain but I'm worried I've forgotten something. I've checked my statement today to make sure the money hasn't been sent to me unexpectedly and I can't find anything unusual. I'm still spending as though I don't have that money to be on the safe side.
Payday from my part-time job today, only a token payment as they deducted a previous overpayment but at least now we're square!
Grateful for lovely weather, not needing a filling and a tasty lunch.10 -
Evening Turtles, good to see you back abundant.
Another NSD today (probably as I only have 71p left in the budget). Gorgeous day here, 19C so got 2 lots of washing dry on the line. Also used up some bits that have been lurking in the freezer for a while. Did a 2.5 mile walk to meet OH from the station so feeling quite virtuous all round!
Today I am grateful for a visit to Dad, a lovely day and DS2 actually listening to me and changing his own bed (not to my standards but you can’t have everything!)9 -
Sunday morning I went to the bungalow with ex s-i-l. Made good progress - sorted through nearly all the remaining bits (some food, odd paperwork mostly non-essential and random bits) and then swept/ hoovered. The tv has not been stolen. The men took it off the drawers to take the drawers to the van and had put it down where it was hidden by the angle of the room door.
S-i-l had to pick up her younger daughter from my brother's (papering a feature wall) so we loaded the car with accumulated stuff and brought it back. Later (much later) I manage to shuffle a few small boxes of books downstairs and onto the new shelves.
Monday morning I was the only one awake and the bath was dry so I put all my bedding and all the extra quilts, pillows, cushions from mum's in there, plus 2 kitchen chairs, 2 empty suitcases and a card holder. That took most of the morning (had to have long rests after moving the heavier items). had a couple of urgent tasks - contacted the doctor's surgery first thing to request a new 'Fit Note'. Had a message mid-morning but only to say they had received it. Just after 2 pm I had another message saying it had been done but was at the alternative surgery not my usual one.
Felt totally wiped out but needed to get it or UC would stop (not sure how I feel about that atm - seem to be spending lots of time on stupid things). So off I went with the walker, caught the bus to top end of town, past the police station. used to be a short cut across the churchyard (side exit out to the car park) which cuts off a corner but lots of bits seem to have changed. Not really a long street but felt like it (more sit downs) then at the bottom I cut across a side street to the surgery, or rather two surgeries. Went in the newer one as it was nearest (only been in there for a couple of the upstairs clinics and occasionally for a sit down or the toilet after collecting a parcel from the sorting office). It was the right one and they had the note - was dreading it being wrong and having to travel to my normal surgery.
Was torn between going back to the bus stop or continuing on foot heading homewards (had taken bags for shopping). Then a choice of right for Liddle, straight on for Tessimos or a combination of the two to cross the bypass for the market and town centre. Vetoed Liddle in case they had fruit trees and I ended up buying some, Tessimo's I knew I would end up getting a taxi home (and probably spending too much). Decided to look if the market still had pot herbs. A few stalls were still packing up but most were closed and the veg stalls were long gone. came out on the town side and bought a couple of things. Very tired and sore when I got home.
This morning was taking most of the things back out of the bath and putting them in the order I needed them. DS3 finally brought the chest of drawers upstairs for me (lots more complaining but I think not being able to have a bath swung it). The small shelves are on top (gradually moved the books that were on those shelves and on top of the wardrobe downstairs), the cube boxes fit on the shelves and I've made a start on dividing any bits that are left (filled a rubbish bag and a paper bag yesterday when clearing the floor) keeping aside anything 'urgent' (not urgent but needs something doing with it rather than stuff to be kept but won't be needed any time soon).
Didn't want to leave the house but did about 3 o'clock. Bank not open (had a bill to pay in my bag on the off chance they were) and by the time I reached the bus station I just wanted to sit down, so didn't cross to the market for pot herbs. Took the bus as far as Morries, bought salad stuff and a haul of 88p meals (mostly plant based) down from @ £3 and 2 bags of 'soup base veg' reduced to 10p each. Just missed the next bus (saw it, didn't have any chance of catching it and suspect it was full of college kids) so decided to walk to mum's (not a lot of difference between the walk from the bus stop I would have been getting off at and walking the other way from Morries) and got there 10 minutes before the time I could have caught the bus. Put the bin out, checked the post - loads but 3 were from BT. Junk into the bin, confirmed that tv licence refund will shortly be in my bank account (all this money that isn't mine to spend), a couple to reply to.
Didn't have the energy to start piling stuff up for tomorrow (mainly garden stuff, all the wild bird food and some stuff from the shed) so had a little sit down, set off to the bus stop in good time and sat waiting. Back home, put food away brought food and drink upstairs. DS3 was in the bath - he's put the 3 items of bedding on top of the wardrobe (I'd already put the smaller winter quilt up there. Can start filling the drawers if I find more energy - current level of fitness 'if I go to the bathroom and when I get back (we're talking 6 or 7 steps here, 10 if I'm really doddery), I've drunk all the water in my cup, I have to think whether I want to go back to refill the cup'.
Grateful for lovely food, good bargains at the SM (including a stir fry for 4 which will be eaten raw - who needs pot herbs), good books, good films, my house slowly getting into shape. Hugs for everyone. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage12 -
Evening
WfH at FT job today. Have spent money - went to the PO to pay council tax and bought a mum's day card for stepmum; called at the c00p and bought baked beans and veggie mince, had vouchers for both so got 75p off. It was really warm in the sunshine and i did 10k steps.
Going to do some follow on work from PT job #2 this evening then get to bed early. In the office tomorrow. Have prepped lunch and tomorrow's tea while i had the oven on.
Gratitudes - boss thanking me for help today; my fringe covering a gross spot by my eyebrow!; DD1 signing up for therapy

Mothernerd I am in awe of all you manage to do! In the first lockdown one of my customers died leaving me as ‘next of kin’ as she had no family. I had to clear out her absolutely stuffed 2 bedroom flat by myself and the tips were all shut at the time. I used to keep waking up in the night worrying about it and when I did get to sleep I would dream about it. I also had to arrange the funeral and deal with all her affairs. It is not an experience I wish to repeat anytime soon, and I did not have to deal with the grief like you. So don’t push yourself too hard, at least your Mum owned her bungalow and you don’t have the council breathing down your neck to get you out in 2 weeks, so take your time and don’t run yourself into the ground.
