Evening turtles, forgot to post all weekend, I had a quiet day on Saturday, tweaked what I think was a nerve in my back and was in agony, painkillers weren't touching it. I did manage some batch cooking for myself and OH so we have plenty of stuff for lunches. Did a little bit of cleaning but not loads.
Sunday I still felt rough, didn't horse ride but went to see pony and then for a gentle swim which helped. Looked after my nieces yesterday afternoon which meant lots of running around after them, was knackered by early evening and took myself off to bed early.
Today has been a quiet day at work, working from home. Did some yoga this morning and walked slowly to the shop to buy some newspapers for the rabbits' litter trays. Had one of those meetings that could have been an email so felt a bit frustrated but need to learn to not let stuff like that get on top of me.9 -
Had today off work. Lots of bedding washed and dried on line. 2 huge bags of compost bought, wire brush and spray hammerite paint. Metal chairs and table look fab now, refresh didn't take long for cost of £10.
Lots of garden tidying up done, back aching so had a lovely bath and washed my locks as full of leaves, twigs.
Popped and got shopping items I forgot at weekend.
Lazy night for me as didn't sleep well last night
Hugs for everyone feeling poorly and in pain.
Grateful for
Radox and hot water

Evening Turtles. NSD yesterday, but had to rush out for emergency loo rolls today. One minute there was a pack of 32 then next minute they had all mysteriously disappeared, !!!!!!!
Took naughty kitten out into the garden on his harness and lead. He caught a fly and did several circuits of the shed which involved me climbing over the piles of !!!!!! I have hidden there pending removal. DD has ordered some temporary fencing to hopefully stop him hopping over the back and disappearing down a foxhole until he is fully grown and able to handle a fox!
I am a bit worried about DS1, he is on the final project of his degree and the first assignment has gone horribly wrong and he sounds really down. His MH is very fragile at the best of times and he really needs to finish this degree so he can get a decent job and being all those miles away means I can be no help at all.
Today I am grateful for having had the foresight to fill my petrol tank when prices were considerably lower(petrol 169.9 and over here), another beautiful day and having enough to get me through to payday (only 71p left of the budget!)10 -
The petrol prices seem to vary madly, I paid 1.59 at Mr T's this morning. I mean it is not great, but on the main road it is £1.70 and over.

Thanks for all the get well wishes. Still felt queasy first thing, but improved throughout the morning. Esmeralda I'm 40 pages from the end now! I'm reading The Last Letter From Your Lover by Jojo Moyes, it is absolutely fantastic! I've been borrowing other books by her from a colleague, & really enjoy them. If you like horses, The Horse Dancer was good too.

A good day at work. The sun was shining, so everyone seemed to be in a good mood, or could be that we break up for the holidays at the end of next week! 😉
Heard some thuds in the kitchen when I arrived home, a bird was being chased in the back porch by one of our inside cats, so hubby managed to get the cat back inside in order to open the back door, & the Starling to escape. Read my book until tea was ready. Had a commission for 2 black facemasks to be made by Thursday for a funeral, so made those, then shortened a pair of jeans. Off to finish my book shortly, will be sad once it's finished though!
Grateful for colleague giving me a book she's got twice, the bird being rescued, great booksUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!

Thrifty - Thank you so much for the book recommendations!
I'll give these a try as I've had a couple lately that I gave up on. I used to think you had to finish every book you started but not any more.
Negative test before work today and the place was very quiet with so many off ill. One advantage was getting to park a lot closer to the front door! Pity it wasn't like that last week in that storm. I got soaked.
Gratitudes: Making it through work despite not feeling the love today, my Bellis daisy plant rallying round after I forgot to water it, lovely gooseberry jam and my sister and niece enjoying the cheesecake I made. X8 -
Hi sorry about not reading much in general, I just skim, and I can see there is just so much going on. I am totally struggeling with the real world, as in keeping up with work, home life, finance and simple stuff like planning food. Partly due to a drop in income, and I feel it is just leaving me flat - for weeks every month and I hate that feeling. I keep having to dip into my reserves to pay bills. This week is literally energy bill vs food. Not in a big way, but mentally it is draining.
It is more draining as looking to make even less over Easter, I really need to turn around some work assessment, some creative commitments, and then get on to job/freelance searching.
Sorry that was a bit of a moan, last week I was optimistic, as only worked 3,5 days due to a hospital visit, but this week I am paying for it. It is really not a healthy balance.
That said I am grateful for having a job, where I don't have to drive - in a bit I can get on my bicycle and bike to work. Ds1 is soo much better, ds2 is still chipping away at his first year at uni, it will be lovely to see him over Easter. And I can't wait to get back onto the river in my kayak, hopefully over Easter as well.
