NST March 2022: March movement

On Wednesday I moved the second couch into place. This again involved moving boxes, bags and shuffling round bits of furniture. DS3 had arranged his stuff around himself overnight and I was not happy with the leftovers - found some of the placement unacceptable. Exercise bike is still in the front room but it's next to the vestibule wall so largely hidden and in front of the electric meter which will only inconvenience DS3. He complained that putting some of the boxes I want him to move on his desk was 'passive aggressive' (maybe letting him watch Grey's Anatomy was a mistake).
Yesterday I was awake at 5 am, gave up trying to get back to sleep at 6 am, did a few messenger requests. 'Man and van' got back to me as soon as they opened - 2 men and van at 11am, £140 for first hour and £60 an hour thereafter. I picked 11 am as s-i-l usually comes at 10 (earlier last week as she was dropping off younger daughter to do decorating for my brother) and thought we'd have some time to clear more space at the side of the house so larger items could go through the patio doors.
Nearly 10.30 and s-i-l had not arrived. Phoned and she was about to set off (having a trying day) so I said I'd get a taxi. Made a start on clearing, moving the things I want to keep within the frame of my polytunnel and moving stuff in the way (current rubbish pile and large planters onto the side bed - bins have all been temporarily moved to the back yard).
Men arrived, followed closely by s-i-l. Asked about moving the hospital bed as it as, asked if they took things upstairs. S-i-l phoned her dad at the hospital visiting his wife. She had a key but unsure about getting the bed inside intact. Men struggled with the bed for a bit then said it needed to be dismantled, so a job for another day. She phoned her daughter but no reply.
I told the men to load the armchair and recliner (tough job, even though one of them knew how to remove the back) and then pointed out things that were going to my house. Tried niece again, still no reply so added 2 nesting tables (for DS2) and asked about garden things. They took the climbing rose in the large bin and the old bin full of raised bed boards and the new polytunnel frame. S-i-l and I did speculate about fitting the old frame in as it was but decide not to ask (if s-i-l is hiring a van to move the other things we can do that then - I didn't know she could drive a van).
Went to my house, unloaded. I took the garden things round on the dolly (borrowed their new shiny heavy duty dolly for the larger bin). DS3 had not told them where to put things even though I had explained where everything was going that morning whilst making him help clear the farmhouse table top and move it out of the way to make space (the corners of the kitchen are filled with stuff I swept out of the way).
I paid the men for the first hour and wrote a receipt for them to sign. Gave them s-i-l's postcode and address and told them to take the armchair and recliner there. Gave her the money for the second hour and she set off. DS3 had moved the shelves and cube shelves into place. I moved a couple of other things (drawers are going upstairs but he's not keen on moving them atm - done more than his 'one thing a day'). Then noticed tv was not in my room - texted s-i-l to make sure she removed it from their van.
I asked if I could get on my bed (DS3 had taken the spare/ winter quilts and extra pillows and cushions upstairs as part of the early morning space clearing) and retired there. Phone call from the van driver (several but broken up - then he sent a text to say he was the van driver - and?). Finally got through, they were at the house but s-i-l (who set off before them) was not. They would wait a little while but had another job to go to. Phoned s-i-l, only a few minutes from home but had been stuck behind a funeral.
Phoned me back - arrived home, chairs were outside her door but men had gone. She was confident they would return as she had their money. So far they haven't been back. Tv is analogue only, they put the wires in the drawers and I brought the remotes home separately the other day.
S-i-l's day had started with her being much delayed by younger daughter getting ready (was giving her a lift), stopping to do errands (daughter's request), parking on McD's land and getting a parking ticket. A fellow victim suggested she go into McD's and make a purchase. She also has a friend's husband who's an adjudicator and will tell her what to do based on a photo of where she parked (company involved are well known for not following the rules).
Today will be a quiet day. May do gentle tidying/ sorting.
Grateful for getting a lot done, my house starting to look like a home rather than a student/ slackers den, convenience food (been making a meal for 4 days but only got as far as putting things in a pan), just about being able to read the food labels thoroughly and decoding any claims I find dubious (within limits if you only eat half a meal for one), the comfort of being surrounded by books, the messy but comfortable bed (heaps of pillows, cushions, quilts which need to be elsewhere but if I put them on the floor I won't be able to move at all).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -
Today I am grateful for completing all my reports, for meeting a friend for a natter and a walk, for doing a tough session at the gym, for getting a liddle f+v box, for dc going to school and having a fair day, for the school doing something about an issue they seem to have been trying to sweep under the carpet, for getting the washing mostly dried outside.

Evening turtles and happy weekend!
Didn't post yesterday as I had a busy day at work and had a really bad headache in the evening. Small spend to buy an aquarium decoration (definitely a non essential spend). On the plus side I organised some free hay for my rabbits from the yard where my share horse lives so have saved quite a bit of money there. Was in bed by 9 but slept through until about 6.30 this morning so clearly needed it!
Productive day wfh today, sorted through my April budget briefly, did some studies and generally got lots done. Had a physio appointment at lunchtime, was really tough today.
Not much in the way of MSE news tbh, spending on track - I seem to have more money than I can account for so I'm not spending it just in case I've missed something!9 -
Evening Turtles. I am claiming an NSD today as I managed to persuade OH to pay for the shopping, result! He was off today, so did some more niggly DIY jobs and when I came back from work we mowed the garden and did some pruning. As I am getting nowhere losing my last stone I decided to try low carb, high protein as I am over 50 and that was recommended. Failed horribly yesterday by innocently eating a raspberry ice lolly which had a horrific amount of carbs, the sugar I suppose.
Today I am grateful for a lovely day, getting out in the garden for the first time this year and sitting here laughing at naughty kitten who is having the serious zoomies!9 -

Completed day 4 of Pilates challenge. Went swimming first thing with a pupil, then the rest of the day went well. Managed to cheer a pupil up, who was feeling very sad. A class had to write each other compliments, the one I received said "you are the best teacher ever & have the neatest writing I've ever seen" 😍 made me smile the rest of the day! More laughs in the office before home time. Played C4tchphr4se with DS1 & I won again! 😃 Washed up after tea, finished another chicken, so posted photos on line. Thought my photo this time looked quite professional!
Grateful for my compliment, taking a good photo, my middle section of the day being far, far easier than I thought it'd be
Thought I'd posted this yesterday - oops!
A good day today, though didn't do Pilates before breakfast. Has a good natter with secretary at lunchtime. Received a message to say that the only other person ever in my class at secondary school (a very small island school) is returning back to our island from Australia for 2 weeks in May 😃 haven't seen each other for over 3 years! Took mum shopping after work, apart from buying a mixer from L1DL, my shopping cost was very low. Really tired tonight, so haven't done much.
Grateful for classmate coming home, chats with secretary, pupil realising he was in the wrong & changing his behaviourUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Morning
Had a spendy day yesterday, had a long lunch break as i walked to town (45 mins) to collect a parcel and met up with DD1, treated us both to a smoothie and we sat out in the sunshine. Bought cat food, bread and wine. Got another book out the library and DD1 gave me a lift home - was grateful as ended up being out for over 2 hours! Did another couple of hours work before logging off for the weekend. Did a quick catch up on PT job #1 then went to my book group. Had a lovely eve with fab company and biscuitsRead in bed for a while and had a text chat with friend.
Woke up early this morning and feel full of cold. Lovely sunny day so will get bedding washed and on the line
Have a good day turtles

Happy weekend turtles!
Just spent a happy morning updating spends, meditating, writing and then doing some Spanish homework. Will not be an NSD either today as need to stock up on goodies from the grain shop to make granola and overnight oats. Also want some more nice coffee and some blueberries/raspberries.
