Stunning photo @ShrewbieI was feeling like a bit of a failure today until I started writing this update.I’d a busy day at work with all 4 colleagues in my team being off on holiday or with sickness. It was just me trying to deal with demands from other colleagues, some thinking they’re the only one asking for something. In between working, I got DS up, washed, fed and into nursery on time, and then did the reverse after getting him home: fed, washed, bed.I cleared our huge pile of washing, made OH and I dinner - a nice quick and easy bangers and mash - and had a video chat with Mum who’d got sad news of her friend passing away.Grateful for relatively good health, the NHS, and for my family and friends.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11

What a day! Hubby tested positive this morning, so took him to hospital (in the middle of the island) for his dialysis & PCR, then headed to work (furthest west of the island). Went back to collect him at lunchtime, dropped him home, then back to work for the last hour! PCR & hospital LFT both negative. DS1 off on Wed, so he can take him to hospital then.
Absolutely shattered, as didn't sleep much after 4am. Completed day 1 of Pilates videos. Had a nap. Covered a storage box with sticky backed plastic (to match another one), sorted filing into 3 piles - like with like - sorted tights out to store in newly covered box, lots for CS too. Washed dishes.
Grateful for a considerate boss, hubby being negative, being able to distract pupil from tormenting another pupilUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I was so close to getting a NSD today but then I text OH to say I was feeling low and lonely wfh. He messaged back saying to get myself and my laptop to a cafe which I did and felt better for it.
I did the to and from nursery runs today, a load of laundry, an unload of the dishwasher, alongside another busy work day. 'Mum - I need you!'. Thankfully dinner tonight is a freezer delight from a batch cook of chilli.
Grateful today for tea, coffee, and sugar!

Did a little more tidying in my room - now have space for 3 more boxes of books, a few tins and one of the large wool winter quilts. Penny tin is up here, £2 toucan will be here soon (and a box of assorted pennies to get them going). Just need DS3 to bring things upstairs for me.
S-i-l picked me up, we went to the bungalow and did most of the kitchen cleaning. She did the top cupboards whilst I did the washing up and one worktop. I spread my new tea towels along the worktop and washed all the fridge/ freezer shelves and drawers. She did the base cupboards and passed me fridge bits. She wiped the insides, then we pulled it out, unplugged it, rooted out the empty bottle, pen and knife from behind it (and lentils/dust). All the rags went in the washer (already part filled)
I've taped the plug onto the side and put a broom in the doors to stop it closing accidentally and put it back in place (it may be staying as mum bought it specially to fit in the space - a wider one would go but it would be extremely tight). Ditto washer because the plumbing is difficult (you go in through the under sink cupboard and then have to reach across the corner cupboard whilst fiddling with pipes and plugs). I put the bin out.
I brought 2 bags back with me, s-i-l took 3. I've pegged out some washing, made lunch and have been on the bed for a couple of hours (I hurt). We're going again on Thursday. S-i-l could do tomorrow but I'd rather keep doing bits here in between (and rest if I need to).
Grateful for clearing space, clean kitchen at mum's, good books, good tv, making progress on the kitchen, bathroom and garden here (may do a bit more outside later if I get more energy), time to rest and recuperate. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Today I am grateful for fine weather, for dc's evening club being cancelled, for the leather sofa for £100 still being in the charity shop ( we bought it!), for meeting up with a friend, for mowing the back lawn.

I was in the lowest reading group at school and when I was 10, the teacher said in front of other classmates that I read ‘like a wet blanket’ which has stuck with me. I’ve read to DS since he was a newborn baby and he is a fantastic reader for a 4-year-old. It makes me feel so proud.
