In extra ninja money saving news, I have just rescued the 4 discarded towels DS2 used for his bath this morning and put them (unwashed) on the washing line. 2 were still folded and one only had a pair of footprints on it. I am not washing clean items anymore.

Hi All, while I have had a nice and somewhat relaxed weekend, I am also well angry after a series of unfortunate laundry events. First it was my outside line - full of laundry yesterday, I put one more double duvet cover and flunk, down it went. I had spare line so order was restored with very little grass attached.
This evening -and another load of laundry - on inside drying rack - almost done with hanging, including jeans and all, and again flunk - down it went. No more drying rack.
I am so annoyed and I think that allthough both line and dryer was in medium state already - it is the actual washer that is the culprit, it is just not spinning properly. It is a very old lady and I think it might actually be reaching for it's end. Really not part of the plan.
That was my complaint - I am grateful for a lovely dinner wiht friends Friday night and for ds1 taking me out for coffee in the park today.

Cable ties can make your collapsing drying rack last a little while longer - I have the same problem with my washer if the load is particularly heavy, or unbalanced in the machine. At least once a week a load has to go through the fast spin and drain program as it is wetter than it should be. Usually the culprit is towels combined with jeans. It does not happen in summer with lighter fabrics. Or, have you checked your gack trap and given the drainage hose a little massage? both of those can cause it not to fully drain as quickly as the timer thinks it should.

I always do a second spin on my laundry in cooler months - it saves loads on drying time. In the summer I only do it for jeans/ towel/ bedding heavy loads, as these don't always spin properly if things get caught up together and I don't want them.to be too heavy on the line.
Gratitudes for the past few days: lovely cakes, driving for the first time post op (bit ouch-y but I did it), catch up tv, longer days, a nice short walk and seeing the ducks, for being warm and safe and not hungry, for people helping others who are not so fortunate and for the block button for stupid people who lack humanity and compassion in even the most basic sense.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £2011 -
Today is going to be a spend day - stocked up on ground coffee and breakfast cereal and almond milk (as it is half the calories of the one I usually buy - DS4 is starting to resemble P00h Bear- all the more noticeable as his other 3 brothers eat like horses but are stickmen, he is hiding sweets in his room and supplementing the lunch I am packing for him ).4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hello turtles, had an amazing time in Granada! It was spendy but I do not begrudge any of it. Anyway it was only spendy in terms of the trains as there was so much free tapas, so we ate and drank and made the most of it. Had a guided tour of the Alhambra and a flamenco show in a cave which were well worth the cash as they were on my bucket list... Grateful for a wonderful weekend and for the heavens opening two days later than predicted.

@Shrewbie looks beautiful!
Didn't post yesterday but had a nice day, went for an early morning horse ride before the rain, it was a lovely start to the day to have some pony time. Came home for lunch and then off to part-time job. Had a pretty full on shift but it was nice for the time to pass quickly as it can drag sometimes. I slept like a log last night after sleeping badly pretty much all of last week. Still felt tired this morning though.
Today was a good day at work, busy but productive. I had to bulk buy some litter and hay for my rabbits, didn't realise I was running so low but always worth buying in bulk.10 -
