I was in the lowest reading group at school and when I was 10, the teacher said in front of other classmates that I read ‘like a wet blanket’ which has stuck with me. I’ve read to DS since he was a newborn baby and he is a fantastic reader for a 4-year-old. It makes me feel so proud.

Today I am grateful for some friends feeding us a delicious lunch and for a good natter, for dc being okay at home alone for a few hours, for a good book, for seeing some neighbours for a quick chat, for plots and plans.

Hi all
Been very spendy today. Bought concert tickets x 4, for DDs me and my friend (friend will pay me back eventually). The tickets can be part of DDs' birthday presents. Had a £4 off voucher for the c00p if spent £20; i needed a few supplies so went round the store doing sums in my head - total spend = £20.05!! Very pleased with my saving & all the stuff i bought is stuff i buy from there anyway. I walked there and back and also had a walk with DD1 who came round this afternoon. Done my 10k steps.
Apart from shopping/walking have mostly done work for my PT and self employment jobs today; March is very busy for all my jobsNot been very restful but thinking of the money and the mortgage OPs...
Finished a book last night and had 1/3 of a box of chocolates leftover from sprouts day
Haven't used my car all weekend and haven't put on the heating since Fri eve either. Decided to eat half a pot of yoghurt for breakfast with granola and raspberries so i've halved the costEvery little helps ....
Gratitudes - nice chat with DD1; being able to afford treats like concerts; having a productive day
love DeniLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

Evening Turtles. NSD 3 for me today. Made a chicken and leek pie to use up some very sorry looking leeks I found in the spare fridge freezer. We live in a town house, so the kitchen and living room are upstairs and there is a utility room on the ground floor with a second fridge freezer which I am particularly bad at remembering I have left stuff in. Also made another apple cake as the one I made on Friday mysteriously disappeared in the night along with most of a loaf of bread and a jar of n@tella.Hips are aching today after my walk so had to give in and take some painkillers. Normally a combination of my magnet bracelet, devils claw and collagen work very well but as I haven’t walked on a regular basis since my foot injury, it’ll take a while to build it back up.
Slightly worried that I haven’t heard from DS1 since Tuesday, but he is 29 and probably doesn’t feel the need to message his Mum every day!Today I am grateful for perfecting the art of dry roast potatoes so I can now eat them again, a visit to Dad who was on good form and the kitten making me laugh chasing the hoover.8 -
NSD 7/16 - nearly bought a clothes airer but remembered I wanted an NSD!!
Finally had time to colour my hair. Feel so much better now the pesky greys are covered.
DS footy match a bit of a farce, they lost and we were all glad when it was over.Used a tip I’d read about taking scorch marks off the top of a toaster and it worked, concerned how happy this made me!
More life admin added to the pile. I think we’re over paying income protection/life insurance/critical illness cover.
Weekly plan on the board so everyone knows where they need to be & when.
Grateful for:
left over cake
hair dye

Well done @ldee2111! The best revenge is making them eat their words!!
NSD#8
A windy day. Decided not to join hubby on his walk, instead I stayed home & did some cleaning. Took a photo of the finished chicken, & posted it in different platforms. It has since been sold 😃 I called her Lily, said she loves loch side walks, baking Brownies & visiting The Peedie Nail Salon to have her claws painted (hence the nail varnish in the photo!)
Completed 2 sewing jobs this afternoon & repaired a hole in the knee of DS3's trousers. Chatted to Dfil on the phone. Finished my book & washed up twice!
Grateful for chicken sales, sense of achievement, chatting with Dfil
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Spent over 3 hours moving a couch from one side of the front room to the other. It did involve moving lots of other furniture and boxes and removing 2 bin bags full of rubbish and at least 2 sacks of can and plastic bottles. Cleaned the couch with baby wipes, got stuff out of the sides (haul from the front room was 5 forks and a small spoon and £3.30 in coins if I can get the green off them).
Swept mopped parts of the floor and stuff from under the chinchilla cage. Also ran the dishwasher, part cleaned the bath (couldn't do too much without hurting my shoulder any more), moved a set of cube shelves and brought a small set of shelves upstairs (have told DS3 which boxes I want bringing up next), opened the curtains and windows, partly degunged the kitchen sink and worked on the blood stains on top of the freezer (from defrosting meat, I haven't killed anyone).
S-i-l is coming on Tuesday instead of tomorrow so will continue pottering and making progress on finding homes for things and making space for things from the bungalow.
Grateful for lots of little successes, good books, good programmes, lots of sitting outside in the sunshine. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage11
