Evening
Spendy day here, had hair cut and coloured; had already put money to one side for it. Bought some bread on way home. Walked there and back which was 12k steps. This afternoon i have done work for one of my PT jobs including organising loads of paperwork i inherited last summer and never properly looked through.
Reading a great book from the library at the moment - need to get to sleep before midnight tonight!
Have got a couple of blankets dried on the line.
Gratitudes - lovely hairdresser and reasonable cost; relaxed evening; good books
love DeniLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

NSD for me today, so NSD 3. Not great, but I have had an unplanned vets bill this month, and it is what it is. Pleasant sunny, though windy day which enabled me to get 2 loads of washing more or less dry outside. Will be finished off on the airer overnight. Gas CH not on today, but we have the stove alight now, with kettles heating water on top. Made the most of the nice weather and planted some of my potatoes, and sowed some tomato seeds which are now under plastic bags in the pretty vintage stained glass terrarium that I use as a propagator, currently on the end of the dining table.Used up some leftover cooked potatoes, and some rather squishy tomatoes in a frittata for dinner. Added a chunk of chorizo, a chopped onion and some chopped chard from the garden, along with some grated parmesan. Egg mountain much diminished, and there is enough left for another meal for OH and I.Grateful today for nice weather, still getting food from my tiny garden, and having enough of everything.10

Evening turtles. Productive day in the end yesterday, managed to get some painting done in the hallway and then rewarded myself with some wine
I also made an appointment with my dentist as haven't been since before covid and have pain in one of my teeth.
Today I woke up at something like 5.30 with back pain, got up, pottered about then went to meet a friend for breakfast. We planned it but I forgot to budget for it so it'll come out of next week's unallocated spends. It was lovely though, vegan pancakes with chia and yogurt. Definitely a splurge but worth it! Had a riding lesson which was already paid for, then came home and napped for a bit. Cleaned kitchen and bathroom and got some washing done as well. Made dinner, tried a new simplycook recipe - spinach and paneer curry - it was really nice.
Grateful for yummy food today, a good catchup with a close friend, and a productive riding lesson.

NSD still 6/16 as spent on bits & bobs today.
Had to go with DH this morning early as he needed a suspect mole removing. He’s petrified of needles so a chance I’d need to drive him home but he was fine. As his appointment was early feels like a very long day!! Watched the footy match then popped to hb for hair dye & moisturiser, also ordered a hair dye bowl & brush from am@zon through zip0.DS homework was to make a cake to show understanding of measuring ingredients £8.10 spent on ingredients!!!! But it’s completed now.
Grateful for:
DH medical treatment done
piece of homework completed

Today I am grateful for sunshine, for a good natter with a friend in comfy seats, for dc accepting their option choice change, for several t1ts in the garden, for watching the recent Martin Lewis show with dh and knowing that we are doing everything he suggested.

Yesterday I returned some library books and picked new ones, was too late with the Ukraine donations as the lorry has already gone, went to pay back one week of pension on mum's behalf and went to my UC interview (should have been phone but the reminder said jobcentre and it was good to do a short walk). On the way back I went in little Arseda and bought food (spent more than planned but it will work - will just delay the delivery order).
Needed a long rest after that - was awake in the middle of the night and cut my hair.
Today I have spent quite a lot but much cheaper day than anticipated - I thought I'd killed another laptop. Went to the GPO with a very important letter (supporting documents for probate) and went in YMCA to donate a tin of reels of cotton and a tin of buttons. Came back, cooked lunch and moved a few bits upstairs whilst it was cooking. Took the bay tree out of the trolley and put 2 small bags of cans and 1 huge bag of glass jars in, then went to get the fan. took the cans and jars to the recycle point and then the fan to the Hospice shop.
Went to look in Will Co for seed potatoes. Bought potatoes, 2 sets of onions, a garden sieve and some scrubby pads for the bungalow. Lots of things I liked but didn't buy more. Went in HB but they did not have what I wanted. Avoided all the pie and cake shops (being very good but have to turn my face away and just march past some aisles in the SM) but bought some sandwiches as was still very hungry (lunch was good but breakfast was on the meagre side)' checked out 2nd hand laptops.
Went in the pound emporium and bought 6 raspberry bushes, 3 blueberry and 2 or 3 blackcurrant bushes, then to another shop to buy a tall stool (to replace one that broke -so I can have a proper shower in the bath, safely). Limped home (back and shoulder still very painful too) and did lots more resting (showed DS3 which bags I needed bringing upstairs as I struggled to get myself up).
Turned the laptop on again. Asked beloved if she could help with the repair menu - I hadn't killed it, it had some updates and then got itself in a tizzy but Beloved knew which buttons to press and it's also limping on bravely.
Lots more things I was going to do but knew when I'd reached my limit (a half hour task turns into a 2 hour trip - lots of sit downs but still). Very relieved that I didn't need to go back out. Most of the stuff I've bought will look after itself once planted and I need to get some things in in the next few days but some will be fine for a couple of weeks so getting my 'need to grow' fix with very little effort.
grateful for the laptop being okay, getting lot of things out of the house, stopping before injuring myself seriously, just sitting on a chair in the back garden for about half an hour, easy food (need to do some prep and a lot of thinking - some places are pushing the traffic light definitions), good books. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
Miscounted yesterday, actually on NSD#7.
Sore lower back & ribcage today, realised it was from being rammed continuously yesterday 😓
Took a carload full of flattened cardboard & black bags to the dump with hubby, so cleared a small space in the garage. Dropped a bag off en route for CS. Went a 4.5 mile walk, pouring rain & face wind! Looked in the two CS, bought some books & a pair of jeans for hubby.
Read some of my current book whilst eating dinner. Did the ironing & listened to C2C on the radio. Cut out more bunting, lavender fish & bits for a chicken. Stuffed & sewed the chicken I assembled the other night, then thought up a name & hobbies for her label. Did some knitting.
Kept worrying about pupil - you can never fully switch off, can you?!
Grateful for when we changed direction & the wind was behind us, still getting excited at new to me books, my craft stashUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Yesterday was grocery delivery day. And we went to Tezco to claim DS’s free book for World Book Day. Then we popped over the road to the Cost.company warehouse and bought bulk supplies of things we use a lot: toilet paper, laundry detergent, that kind of thing. They should last us the year! It was a planned trip that I’d put money aside for.DS also got another book because I can’t help myself when it comes to encouraging him to read. I was in the lowest reading group at school and when I was 10, the teacher said in front of other classmates that I read ‘like a wet blanket’ which has stuck with me. I’ve read to DS since he was a newborn baby and he is a fantastic reader for a 4-year-old. It makes me feel so proud. At Cost.company, we also had a free lunch by eating our way around the many sample stations - pizza, red velvet cake, and an ‘energy boosting’ mango drink. 😂Grateful for free books, my 20-year-old eyelash curler (because no matter how tired I am, the curlers make me look awake), and for my DS.
