Hi everyone
hugs greent good news they removed all of the cancer xx
glad you had a trip out to the film club mothernerd xx
happy birthday to DS1 thrifty ! xx
I've had a lovely day out with a friend, we visited a town an hour's drive away where there was a brilliant market and lots of quirky independent shops - no high street coffee chains in sight! I bought us lunch as she drove. Also bought a present for my friend as she starts her new job on Monday, some earrings for DD2 and sis' birthdays; and a small gift for DD1.
Came home and neighbour had mowed my lawn.
Having an easy tea from the freezer and will get to bed early
Gratitudes - friend for driving us to a lovely place; chilled afternoon in the sun; good neighbours

Evening Turtles. Glad you are on the road to recovery greent x
Today me and OH went to a local English Heritage site which was free with our membership, so just lunch paid for. When we got back DD and DS2 were extending the height of the back fence with some heavy duty netting to stop naughty kitten escaping, so my garden now looks like part of some road works! Seemed to work though as we let him out without his harness and there were no escape attempts, and it is only until he gets a bit bigger.
Today I am grateful for a day out, DD and DS2 working well together instead of being at each other’s throats and a visit from SIL and nephew.

Thrifty, happy birthday to ds1. Hope he's had a great day.Don't forget to change the clocks, turtles.Today I am grateful for good bus connections, for the bedside table I got for dc being reduced from 20 to £5, and for getting it home on the bus, for some lovely conversations with lovely people, for my tulips having a fringe of colour.Any objections if I set up April in the next few days?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!9

Yes please @apple_muncher, that would be great!
DS1&3 arrived home just before 8am, luckily I heard them trying the front door, as DH had forgotten to remove the key in the inside, so they couldn't get in! DS1 loved all his presents, he'd sent me a list previously, but had a few surprises that he'd not asked for too. He worked for a couple of hours late morning, but wasn't called in the rest of the day. Me & DH went to find the new hiking route he was told about the other day. The filled quarry was closer than we'd thought, so we continued up the hill (over moorland), quite steep & spongy, so a good workout 😂 great views from the top. This is where two lochs meet, the thin strip of land in the centre leads to the Ring if Brodgar (similar idea to Stonehenge).
Chatted with a customer for half an hour, then made a carrot cake for DS1. Washed up, then did the ironing. After tea I sorted through all my different pictured 50p that I've gathered. Some are worth a few £, so will have to get listing them on a selling site.
Grateful for our beautiful island, delicious cake, walks with DH, DS1 having a nice birthday (thank you for all the good wishes)
Use it up, wear it out

Greent - So glad that you've had your op and they are looking after you.
Firsview - You can tell he's trouble, look at him calculating the height of the new fence!
Thrifty - What a fantastic view!
Took mum shopping today as I'm cooking lunch tomorrow for all of us, if you can call fajitas and salad 'cooking'! 😂 Got the food needed and mum managed to find a quality dress in the CS so she was pleased.
Mum and I got treated to a pub tea tonight for babysitting neighbours 4 cats. Very nice evening chatting and the food was good. The cats are funny, if we aren't there to feed them by about 5pm they squeeze through the fence and come to find us!
Making plans to visit to a local Daffodil display with my mum and my friend. Planned to go in 2020 but covid meant it was cancelled. Hope the weather will be nice.
Need to write card and wrap presents for mum for Mothering Sunday. Just a couple of little things as she would rather have a trip out somewhere.
Rather overspent on my March budgets so really need to cut back in April. Food spending has crept up a lot. Going to try Ald* for a month and see if that helps.
Gratitudes: lovely meal out with neighbours; fantastic weather; getting ingredients for family meal tomorrow; photos from my friend in Germany showing her Easter tree and decorations. X

apple_muncher said:ldee - aldee and liddle also do uniform which is super cheap - always buy double what you think you need! . It'd be hard for me to spend all the money on 'school supplies' in tesc0 as, age 4/5, kids don't need anything other than uniform. Not even a pencil case! However, you could maybe use the same amount of money on uniform/shoes/trainers and use the tesc0 vouchers for food...NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸9

Been mia as just still so tired 4 weeks on from surgery. Have been working from home for a week (around 5hours a day) and then into the office yesterday and today (still officially signed off jntil Thurs next week but doc is OK with me working g reduced hours and easier stuff if I want) - both days I came home and fell asleep. Next week I am going to work even shorter days until I can manage being in the office without needing a nap after!
Results from op back - they removed all the cancer but it had almost tripled in size in the 5 wèks since biopsy- so good job it was caught when it was! Lymph thankfully clear. Now need some more tests to figure out next stage in treatment.
Oh - and DS2 tested positive for covid tonight (he also had it back in October when we all did).. sigh.
Thankful for NHS and screening programmes, for their fab staff, for having a neat scar, for lovely colleagues, for sunny weather.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸8
