Good Evening 🌔
First day at work went swimmingly. I think going to bed on time and being fully prepped helped a lot. I am trying to reframe my working day too; I am now having a cooked (pre-made) meal for breakfast, and then lunch (Huel Savoury) and then today I went to the gym after work (first time in years). If I can do this rather than on my day off I can potentially slash my petrol bills, as the gym is 5 minutes from work. I'm then home by 19:00, having a light shake, and then have 2 hours to wind down, check in here, and get to bed on time. I'm stopping drinking caffeine after 15:00 and no fluids 2 hours before bedtime. This is all on the back of a book I am reading (book number 1 of 5) called 'Why We Sleep'. It's a pretty amazing informative book with loads of interesting facts backed by science. It looks at sleep in the animal kingdom and how essential it is to early development, and things like memory, learning etc. If ever there was a magic bullet for health this is it!!! For any science geeks out there I highly recommend it!
Today I am grateful for:
1) Being prepared. As we speak my bag is already packed for tomorrow, work clothes out ready, and lunch packed!
2) Uncovering lots of information about sleep. It will be interesting to see how my mood changes as my sleep improves
3) A great day at work that seemed to flow
Today = NSD number 5
PS. Made my Lasagne yesterday. What a mess. Melted cheese over the oven, sauce explosion... and it didn't divide up neatly into 8 portions owing to it being sloppy! Maybe I should have let it cool first haha. That said it tasted yum. So that's another thing ticked off my 'out of my comfort zone' list (probably never to be repeated haha!).
Have a nice evening folks (and get to bed on time haha!) 😴

Glad your first day went well @abundant1972
Got up at a decent time & made myself do my exercise routine.
Another !!!!!! day at work, I got upset at the end of the day, had reached the end of my tether. Hoping it made the pupil realise their actions affect people & I'm not there to be hit or have things thrown at me every day. Was given a hug by an external colleague who had popped in to see how the rest of the day had gone after she'd dropped the pupil off mid-morning. The headteacher saw I was upset, but I told her I couldn't speak now & needed to go home. Cried all the way with my music blaring out the car speakers.
Watched a programme with DS1 then slept for an hour. Felt a bit better, so completed a sewing job. Off to bed with book no 2 in a minute.
Grateful for good books, being able to leave work behind & not be thinking about it all evening, one day left before half-term, Ben Fogle programmes, shelter from stormy weatherUse it up, wear it out

@abundant1972 Glad your first day was a good one! Always nice when it goes smoothly and you don't regret moving!
@Thrifty_Taylor How has it come round that children have been protected from smacking but it is ok to smack adults? The world has gone mad. I hope you are feeling a bit better now and that something can be done to protect you better in future.
Been poorly again so missed 3 days at work and had full set of blood tests today. Results on Friday.
Not done many steps over last few days but managed 10K+ today and feel better for it. NSD 3/15 due to not eating and being too wobbly to go shopping.
Managed to drop food items to food bank collection point which was good.
Car MOT tomorrow, hope there's nothing major. DS rang to say he's scrapped his car as it was past it. Scrap metal prices gone sky high so he got £300 instead of £100 which he has given to me to look after. This is a first!
Sleep tight all x

Morning
Had a spendy couple of days, topped up on petrol, bought a gift for sister from CS and had a day out yesterdayWent to visit DD2, had a lovely day, went out for lunch then drove to the seaside and had a relaxing walk. Did a food shop for DD and drove home.
Have been managing my 10k steps and also did an exercise class on Fb on Tu eve. Finished one book at the weekend and started second book yesterday. Feel sluggish - eating too much bread and not sleeping very well, keep waking up really early. Maybe i had too much sleep over the weekend when i had about 11+ hours each night!
Hope everyone has a good day

@abundant1972 I try to prep breakfast, lunch and clothes the night before I have to go in to the office or I'll just be a mess in the morning! I hate doing it when I get in as I just want to chill but it makes sense!
@Thrifty_Taylor hope you are feeling okay now.
Forgot to post yesterday, was in the office all day and keep forgetting to post on office days. I bought breakfast and lunch from home but was absolutely starving and felt sick at about 11am so I did buy a toastie. Not the end of the world, I don't do it every day.
Still having issues with my old employer, they still have me recorded as an employee despite me and my manager both saying I've left. They won't listen when I say I've left and I'm worried they're going to pay me this month, and it'll just be a mess trying to give it back... saw my payslip from the new job, six week's pay due to when I started, emergency tax has taken a HUGE chunk so I'm lucky there's extra in there. First frog on the list tomorrow is to contact HMRC to sort that out and hope to get a speedy refund.
Not much else to report. Shopping delivery this evening, had a £16 voucher come through from tesco so made good use of that. We'll be well stocked!9 -
Today I am grateful for good coffee, for my sister, for dc's art, for being on half term now, for dh booking the car in for new tyres.
