Sort of had a day off - eyes are extremely sore and did not feel like doing anything. Got washed and dressed etc, slowly. Running out of drinks (should have bought some yesterday but was too tired) so went to the shed in a rain break. Knew I had one 2 l of fizzy water - there were 3. Difficult to get at so only dragged 2 out and as it still didn't rain, I went to the corner shop and bought diet coke. Okay for food - still have some things in the freezer to use up (plus kippers for niece's bf - bought for mum, and 4 bags of meat scraps for my brother's dog) - just need to try making it a bit more balanced.
Already had 'The Suffragette' lined up to watch (frequent breaks to put cotton wool pads soaked in cold tea on my eyes). Did some bits - rubbish gathering, cooking cauli, an onion and a whole yellow pepper to add into my curry and putting clothes to dry on the radiators. Then watched 'L A Confidential' and in bed by 7pm.
Finished a puzzle, read some of my book (finished one in the night - took several hours to read the last 10 pages) and just accessed my bank account and wrote out the transactions - some things to chase up but a bit clearer about where I stand. Hope I'm fit to keep decluttering the paperwork mountain tomorrow and get things stacked up for Monday.
Grateful for curry and lots of use up veg, cold tea compresses, 2 good films, 1 new to me and one old favourite, finding drinks, lovely letter from my mum's neurologist. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -
Good Evening 🌔
Busy day today spent with family. Was lovely to have a catch up. Looking for a few days of rest and relaxation now. Found myself being nostalgic today - not sure why. Remembering old songs, old friends and happy times before the grind of real life and employment and bills and responsibility set in haha.
Today I am grateful for:
1) Family time together
2) Quality time with Dad making the most of him whilst I have him around
3) Convenience stores, internet, my car, technology...
Today was a spend day
Night all x

Another NSD might be #6
Slept a little longer than usual, hung the washing on the line (started raining, but put it out anyway), then walked 4.5 miles with DH. After dinner, I shortened 3 of the pairs of jeans I'd bought yesterday for him, then downloaded the new apps onto my firestick that my postie told me about, that lets me watch series & films not accessible without a dish on the side of my house, plus many more! DS3 was extremely excited when he saw all the anime series. Watched 3 episodes of The Witcher & knitted more of my jumper.
Grateful for new free channels, a walk in the rain, hanging out the washing, my jumper progressing, loving my bookUse it up, wear it out

Morning turtles, haven't posted for a few days but have just caught up.
Friday OH and I went to a local Thai for dinner, it was absolutely delicious. Since Covid we've rarely been out for dinner, if we fancy something we just get a takeaway so it was nice to actually dress up for a change! I also didn't feel guilty for stuffing myself because it was all just fresh vegetables and rice!
Saturday I woke up ridiculously early at about 6am and couldn't get back to sleep. I was at my part-time job all day and it was mental, didn't get home until 11.30 last night. Things have changed recently and we now have three children living in the home and it's just chaos trying to manage them all, especially when they start feeding off one another and winding each other up. I dealt with a few admin frogs while I had a few brief minutes of respite.
I thought it was meant to chuck it down all day today so I cancelled my horse riding and had a lie in - first time in forever that I've slept in past 9am, I was shocked lol. And my back didn't hurt for a change last night so I feel very rested. Got up and it's dry as a bone out so I could've gone riding but it's not the end of the world. I will bring the pony some apples that I got especially for him in a little while. Also going to pop to the farm shop and see what goodies they might have for Valentine's. Nothing expensive, more of a token box of chocolates or something (that I will probably end up eating haha).8 -
Good Evening 🌔
Had a really lazy day today - total rest day. I'd normally be at the gym but as I went two days after work with my new save on petrol scheme haha - it meant today was a freebie - whoop 👏🏻 Will do my mindfulness shortly and then read another chapter or two. Nearly half way through Feb and not even finished 1 book! Valentine's Day tomorrow... not decided what I am doing yet... was looking around at local restaurants... I think I am going to feel very conspicuous out on my own haha... I have bottle of red in already... so might use the money I would have spent on meal out to get some ingredients in for a new (another new!!!) recipe, and some nice chocolates... have a candlelit bath or something.
Anyone else up to much? How are other singletons spending it (besides crying into your pillows haha!!!) 😭😂
Today I am grateful for:
1) Chill time at home
2) For food in my freezer and fridge, and pre-prepped meals
3) For game creators and my PC
Today = NSD number 8
Have a lovely evening folks x

Evening turtles
Achieved another NSD today; was supposed to be meeting a friend but she had to cancel. I've enjoyed pottering at home, decluttering, zapping books on the z*ff** app (they will take 10 including a uni book of DD2's for £3!) & re-doing my budget. Went for a walk this afternoon & reached my 10k steps. Haven't used my car all weekend and meals have been from stores. Payday is Friday and i don't have much money left so am eeking out my budget.
abundant - another singleton here! I mostly like being on my own but sometimes it would be nice to have company. I did shred an old address book today and enjoyed seeing the ex's details disappear through the shredder! I won't do anything tomorrow other than my usual Monday routine of work followed by exercise class on FbHope you have a nice day - a candlelit bath for one and wine and chocs sounds good to me
Gratitudes - DDs being happy; having a relaxing day to myself; keeping in touch with people by text; good TV this eve

Abundant, you'll be charged a fortune for eating out tomorrow!!! I'd vote for buying the ingredients and spoiling yourself with a yummy meal. We've nowt planned, I think dh has forgotten 😂, so will prob cook ourselves a nice steak later in the week if we can be bothered to buy some... Sounds like one of your Feb FIVES will be five new recipes!Today I am grateful for getting to the gym, for the rugby (it's not all about the legs, you know, I do watch the match for the quality of play too...!), for being able to stay indoors and be snug and warm, for a money chat with dh, for booking a place in Penzance for October.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

NSD#7
A springlike day today. Walked 7.5 miles up a large hill, to a trig point. Hasn't been there before, the view was amazing! Very tired on our return, so read a chapter of my book whilst eating dinner, then had a nap. With the yellow curtains I'd bought from a CS on Friday, I made new covers for the headboard cushions on DS1's bed. There is still one curtain intact, so suggested he hang it in front of his clothes rail alcove. Had a nice bath & used up another facemask, then watched the last episode of a programme I've binge watched today.
Grateful for great views, a nice walk, DS's bedroom being all matching colours now, good TV, flowering spring bulbs
We never celebrate valentine's day, growing up it was my dad's birthday. Now we'd rather not pay the extortionate prices, sometimes get choc once it's reduced afterwards, but hubby not allowed to eat it with his bad kidneys, so happy just to save money for something else in the future.Use it up, wear it out

Morning,
Goodness lost track of when I last posted. Naughty!
Had my hair cut on Saturday, a new salon to me, saw a client, weighed myself 6lbs off in a month, and got some shopping in. Yesterday I just chilled, cooked and did a bit of housework.
Grateful for
- yoga practice this morning
- knowing I have yummy food in the fridge
- feeling a little bit at peace
