Hi turtles, I also keep forgetting to post on office days! But at least I’m caught up on your posts. I’m on NSD 4 which was yesterday. Have been killing some frogs, mainly work related ones but could do better!!!Good habits are more or less kept up, have been meditating and exercising at least. I have realised I also need to start prepping for work the night before @abundant this would also include sleeping well! I like the sound of that book too.Grateful also for good coffee, laughs with colleagues and for feeling motivated.Student loan £5655

Good Evening 🌔
Thanks all for comments and yes! Definitely look into that book. It gets quite scientific at some points and I had to really concentrate and re-read the odd paragraph to understand it - but full of little revelations. If you have teenagers - definitely worth a read, as comments how biologically their circadian rhythm changes yo a more nocturnal pattern and how society doesn't account for this. It may help you understand why they want to stay up late and get up late haha! And you just thought they were being rebellious/lazy haha!
Today I am grateful for:
1) Having a nice colleague to work with today
2) For being inspired to go to the gym after work when I was all set to skip
3) The cold crisp day and lighter evenings
Today = NSD number 6
Night night! Am off to pack my bag and get my lunch/breakfast sorted for tomorrow 😉 Then a cosy few hours with some hot cocoa and a few more chapters of 'Why We Sleep' 💤⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

Evening
Sent DD2 £20 for gym membership. My car failed its MOT and needs 2 new tyres so that's me waving goodbye to nearly £500Thankfully the garage does a payment plan, so i can pay over 4 months interest free. Had to leave my car at the garage overnight so will have a long walk tomorrow afternoon to collect it. Could probably find someone to give me a lift but i don't mind walking if it isn't raining (or snowing!).
Have increased my monthly payment for gas/elec having looked at my usage over the festive period, which was 4 times what i paid for (was in credit so have managed but credit about to run out).
Thankfully i have lots of food in the cupboards, fridge and freezer so i do not need to buy any food - even if i want to... I have about half a tank of petrol too so should be ok till payday.
abundant - i think my DD2 has read that book and it may be upstairs in her room so i shall look for it. I don't sleep well or have a good pattern of going to bed at a set time; i work lots of evenings so it is difficult to have a routine.
gratitudes - garage doing a payment plan and cleaning my car inside and out; nice catch up with DD1 who came for tea; encouraging text from friend when i'm feeling a bit fed up; hot water bottles to get me through the day; lots of good drama on TV
hugs to anyone who needs or wants one (probably quite a lot of us
love Deni

Spendy day today, Mr T delivered my shopping, only £52 so well in budget. As DS1 not here, will reduce budget to £400 next month and see how that goes. Gas and electric was getting a bit too much in debit so increased DD to £200 in anticipation of the April price rise (gulp!)
Rearranged the study so it no longer has a sideboard covering the radiator and confiscated and hid the fan heater which DS2 was using with gay abandon in there. Presented him with a draught excluder, a furry hoodie and some slippers instead.
Today I am grateful for seeing a moped rider wearing a huge furry rabbit hat over his crash helmet and giving me a good laugh, Mr T actually not making any weird substitutions for a change and DS1 still sounding cheerful in Canada.11 -
Hallelujah, today was a lot better 😃 thank you all, for your support. Still felt a little sad before I went in to work, but pupil gave me a big apology & lots of hugs, then I was only with them for a third of the day. Felt able to discuss things with the teacher mid morning & things are going to be sorted out.
Had a competition with DS1 to see who could answer the most on C4tchphr4se when I got home, he was chuffed he won today. After tea I cracked open some peach schnapps & started to do a jigsaw. Don't have a board big enough, so doing it on the living room carpet. Hoping the cats don't scatter the pieces whilst I sleep tonight!
Grateful for my support team at work (& here), half term, jigsaws, a better day, readingUse it up, wear it out

@firsview - you had me in stitches about the draught excluder, hoodie and slippers substitutions and confiscation of fan heater! 🤣 I can just imagine what my DS would have thought of that many years ago! He already thought he was deprived. Now he's 32 with a family and saying all the things I used to say to him. Hilarious.
@Thrifty_Taylor - glad your pupil apologised and you had a better day.
Really pleased as my car passed it's MOT, woohoo! Advised to get both rear springs done in the near future but at least I can have a breather first. Big help to finances although savings from january thriftiness will help.
Starting to feel a bit better thank goodness. Should get my blood results tomorrow. Managed 15.5k steps so perhaps that helped my circulation a bit too.
Unfortunately had a small unplanned gift spend today but only £2 so not bad.
Gratitudes: nice walk in the sun although it was chilly at times, my car "Snowy" passing his MOT, starting a new book, feeding the robins. X

Evening
Off to my book group soon, that is one book i have managed to read this month. Work was ok. Did some of my PT work over lunch. Walked to collect my car and pay first installment for the work needed on it.
Glad it's Friday and looking forward to a chilled eve, hopefully with cake

Today I am grateful for doing a little work in the garden, for dc going to school, for our fire pit thingy, for a crisp clear day, for a good gym session, for new tyres making a difference to how the car drives.
