apple_muncher said:mothernerd - hope you are ok. Hugs.
Today I had an appointment at 12.30 pm at the jobcentre. Had plans but just took the walker and allowed myself an hour to get there and needed it. They were very kind, looked after me, woman at the next desk offered me water as my breathing was ragged. The capital (mum's money) is being disregarded for 6 months, so that's a good outcome.
Intended going home but was so exhausted I just crossed to the little pie shop across the road (double yellow lines all along so couldn't get a taxi to come to me), then walked back to the town centre slowly (all 2.5 blocks of it), went in the library for a sit down in the warm and then continued to the taxi office. She had no taxis for half an hour but I had a book, food and drink so no worries.
Sat for a while (have a film I want to watch) but gave in and stretched out on the bed (took both phones as my niece was going to call) and have been reading and resting most of the afternoon. Niece has just phoned - she had tried earlier (think I'd managed to mute it), will call next week when her bf has a day off.
Grateful for DSS disregard, just getting there (even if I won't be repeating it any time soon), lovely food (not all healthy), DS3 actually having called the waste wizards and had all the rubbish from the yard removed (and kept the things I want), taking time to rest and read.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage10 -
@Esmeralda2662 I am also guilty of many of my mums moans (you treat this house like a hotel, were you born in a barn etc etc!)Well done to Snowy for passing, it’s always a nail biting moment isn’t it.
NSD for me today, helped by being at work! Helped OH run an Ethernet cable upstairs to DS2’s bedroom tv, it had to go under the floor and come out in the bottom of a cupboard so a toy broom a mop, a shepherds crook (don’t ask) and a coat hanger were deployed and he finally managed to snag it and pull it out. Not sure if said implements are ever going to be retrieved, but the wire is through!
Today I am grateful for a visit to my friends and a huge catch-up, OH having already de iced the car for me when I went out to work and it being Friday.11 -
@mothernerd - sorry to hear you've had a bit of a struggle this week. You've achieved so much over the past few weeks. Give yourself a bit of a breather and some tlc.
Got some of my blood results today. Apparently I've got Vitamin D deficiency as a starter. Would never have guessed that as I thought I was out walking quite a lot. Apparently it could be caused as a side effect of one of my meds. Who knew it could make you feel so ill in so many different ways? Now on heavy duty prescription to boost me back up. Feeling so much better, thank goodness.
Bought some picnic type food for lunch tomorrow as Mum, my friend and I are doing a day class in needle felting animals. They used to sell lovely freshly cooked lunches but sadly this has stopped due to lack of funding. A vending machine won't be the same!
No NSD today so stuck at 3/15 so far. 12K+ steps so pleased with that.
Got a Valentine's card for OH for Monday. I think it's cute but not the usual sarcastic type he likes. Hopefully cute will do! Just got to get some nice nutty chocolates now.
Gratitudes: A nice bright day, an initial diagnosis and treatment, feeding the robins and squirrels (who were hilarious with their antics). X

Good Evening 🌔
Quick check-in before bed. Had a busy but productive day at work. All went ok. Left and was pleased to see another light evening. It makes such a difference not driving home in the dark now.
Deni - sorry to hear about your car bill... They can be huge money sinks. Good news your garage have that plan. I try and swoosh some money into a car fund every month if I can - as had the same thing happen to me a few years back. Now am rarely caught off guard with Tax MOT etc although services can be unpredictable. I guess we have to think our cars work hard and take us lovely places so we owe them some TLC 🚗♥
Today I am grateful for:
1) Light and bright February days (even if freezing cold today!)
2) For pushing myself to do new things at work I'd been putting off
3) For having some old videos of Mum when she was well. They make me smile.
Today = NSD number 7
Night all. Catch you all tomorrow x

Thank you @Esmeralda2662. Sending hugs & hope your Vitamin D levels rise soon.
Rest easy @mothernerd, you don't need to be full pelt all the time, recharge your batteries while you can.
I've had a lovely day, apart from the initial blip of driving to town to have the car serviced & MOT'd, only to be told the MOT mechanic is +ve. Don't know why they couldn't phone & let me know!!
Anyway, dropped sewing off, then headed to mum's. We sorted through all the clothes piled on the floor at the bottom of her bed & on top of her cupboard, so she now has a clear space. It made us smile every time we walked past the open bedroom door. Hopefully it'll spur her on to do some more now! Had a huge bag to donate to CS after lunch. (Which we watched whilst swooning over a different dvd of gorgeous Norwegian pop stars 😜) trawled round 2 CS & got lots of goodies - jeans for hubby in a smaller size, a new cushion for DS1 & some curtains to cover his headboard, some bedding for me & a couple of tops to save for DS's birthday next month, a treat for DS2 as well. (DS3 had stuff from supermarket). Had £10 + £2 off coupons for L1DL & used £6.50 dividend coupon in T0SCO, so very pleased with my savings.
Finished my jigsaw, sorted receipts into budget, then finished one shoulder on the back of my jumper (tricky pattern!).
Grateful for a clearer space for mum, a good rummage in CS, treating the boys, money off vouchers, finishing my jigsaw & doing some knittingUse it up, wear it out

Morning turtles,
Hugs to those who need them.
I’m still on NSD 4 but I’ve just updated spends and budgets seem to be on track as long as I don’t go crazy this weekend. It’s so interesting to see what I actually spend, I can’t believe I’ve never properly done this before.
The week started off a bit stressful, couldn’t get back into the office routine and slept badly but it has definitely got easier. (just in time for the weekend!)
Habits - I’ve made it almost 5 weeks of minimal alcohol and sugar intake... not that I'm counting, haha. These are two lifestyle changes I needed rather than wanted to make, reducing them but not completely cutting them out, and I’m surprised with how well I’m doing so far. I have only eaten a bit of 85% chocolate in that time. Obviously some sugar has sneaked in but not in the form of desserts etc. So I’m pleased with that. Have exercised 4 days out of 6 this week.
Meditation this morning, and will finish my audio book today - the artist’s way.
The following occurred to me after reading your posts, and I’ll try to do them next week to make the morning routine go a bit smoother.
- Lay out clothes the night before (ideally I want to have a capsule wardrobe eventually, at least for work. I'm interested in how it's going for the person who was doing the project 333? sorry I can't remember who it was)
- Prep work lunches on Sunday - this will be hard
- Prep brekkie (overnight oats) and the coffee pot the night before (thanks whoever mentioned this ,can’t remember)
- Try not to drink coffee after 3pm and no water 2 hours before going to bed (thanks abundant)
Grateful for a lazy Saturday morning, for tea in bed, for nice work colleagues, for still feeling motivated.
Have a wonderful, restful Saturday turtles x

Today I am grateful for a good night's sleep, for fresh air, for some time spent crafting, for yummy veg, for finding a couple of hoodies in the charity shops, for arranging to meet a friend for a natter and a coffee next sat.

Evening
I had a very lazy morning reading and texting a couple of friends. Then DD1 picked me up and we drove to town. There was a market on but it was really cold and wet so not ideal for browsing. I bought a present for my sis and a bedside table for £5 in a CS! Walked home with DD1's bestie and she gave me lunchCame home and did some cleaning. Had tea from supplies and going to watch TV and go to bed early - stayed up till 1am watching a drama on i- player zzzzzzzz
Gratitudes - finding a bargain in the CS; lovely afternoon with DD1 & her bestie; free lunch; being given some spring cabbage foc; DD2 messaging to say i'm her inspiration
love and hugs
