NST February 2022: a month of fives

NST February 2022: a month of fives
February. The days become noticeably longer. Some people have the urge to ‘spring clean’ their house (an urge which I manage to quash rather successfully every year). Some spring flowers start to poke through and bring a bit of colour. Some hardy shrubs start to produce leaves. Yet winter has not totally disappeared and snow (or at least ‘cold snaps’) and grim weather are still out there.
This February, I invite you to join the NST (ninja saving turtle) gang as we fight debt, build our financial and mental and physical fitness, and have fun along the way.
A month of fives.
FIVE minutes a day on clearing some clutter or tidying up. Or 5x 1 minute slots.
FIVE fruit and veg a day. Minimum.
FIVE minutes of outside time. Daily.
FIVE minutes of moving every day.
FIVE gratitudes each day.
FIVE minutes in the morning (or last thing at night) to plan
the day ahead. Prioritise. Nibble frogs. Make sure you have fun.
FIVE things every day that you enjoy.
FIVE consistent good habits that you can do all month.
FIVE books read throughout the month.
FIVE items to leave the house (you can choose 5 each day, 5 each week, 5 bagfuls...) over the month.
FIVE frogs to be swallowed over the month.
FIVE things that take you out of your comfort zone.
FIVE donations to charity if you can.
And FIVE non-negotiables:
-pay to your debt/savings FIRST and live off the rest.
-NSDs – 15 please. You keep it if you ONLY buy yellow sticker items, fuel/travel, medical items, or are paying for randomly-needed-but-planned-for-costs (eg kiddie activities, milkmen, window cleaners…)
-set your budgets and note all spends. That way you can see what went well and where you can tweak things next month.
-plan the month: anyone attached to education will know half term falls this month, so think ahead and plan accordingly.
-go out on 2 outings and splash out £5 on yourself at some point.
Who is with me? (hopefully more than FIVE of you…!!!)

Me please apple. I’ll try to post this month as well, have been following along but not posting, but posting can be one of my consistent good habits for the month. Will post plans later today or tomorrow.

Can I join this month please apple. I admit to lurking in the shadows for the last 5 years whilst psyching myself up to join! I have a tendency to food hoard and make completely unnecessary trips to the SM so I promise to do my best ( it’s like joining the brownies isn’t it!)9

Can I join this month please, instead of just reading along?

Count me in please
Have decided not to track NSD's in Feb as I find it doesn't make much difference to what I spend. I do have a weekly budget that I'll stick to. I have two outings planned for friends' birthdays. Few things to buy/pay off/chase up - car insurance claim from June 2021 is the main one!).8
