greent - Sending you hugs.
Was a spend day. Got tv mag, supplements and bus pass. Went to have a check up at the dentist. Have to keep an eye on 2 teeth(they have been keeping an eye on them for at least 10 years), she gave me 3 possible treatments that might be needed. Will have a 12 month review, unless there are any further developments. Very lucky considering I last went 2 years ago. Dealt with 3 frogs. Had put a £1 off shopping offer on a loyalty card, managed to get chocolate that cost £1 for free. Managed to start to declutter some paperwork. Had a nice walk around the park this morning. Was on annual leave today. Did a small tidy up and did things on my to do list.

@greent, so sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Well done NHS for dealing with it quickly, though a shame you couldn't have visited greent junior at uni beforehand. Sending you big hugs & wishing you a speedy recovery. You & @mothernerd can stay on the chaise longue for as long as you like. The rest of us will take it in turns for the last seat!
NSD#1
Awoke early & despite the sounds of a storm outside & the lure of my warm bed, I forced myself to get up & did part of an exercise routine (see previous post). Quite pleased I didn't do the whole thing as the backs of my thighs have been quite tender all day. Lol, hope to do more of the routine tomorrow. Had opened a new savings account at the weekend & transferred the majority of my current account balance to it, so still getting used to the lot lower balance in it now. Frog #1 was dealing with a call from fraud prevention, just as I was due to leave for work. Told them it was all my idea, etc. A bit panicky when I got home & couldn't see the new balance in the new account, but after a bit of searching, I found it was still pending. Phew!! Very tired at work today & had a couple of tricky moments, but chatted with a colleague at the end of the day & put the world to rights, so it made up for it.
Felt too tired to sew, so washed the dishes & put the washing on the clothes horse.
Grateful for another donation for my fundraising, a man contacting me last night after reading my spiel as to why I'm fundraising, saying he knew my husband a long time ago & offering help if & whenever we need it, a fizzy watermelon drink, the thought of choosing a new book to read, & catch up with colleague.Use it up, wear it out

good evening
@F0xh0les. I was wondering whether you had boiled the kettle a lot or your kettle took a longgggg time to boil!@greent sorry to hear of your diagnosis, hope the treatment goes well and that you can take some time to recover well.
NSD 1/15 for me.I went out between meeting for a 20 minute walk and walked on the spot for the second half of Corrie to close the rings on my watch.
I took 7 items to the charity shop.
I am grateful for an increased police presence in my street following another incident at the end of the road at the weekend, for pink lemonade lucozade, for being able to donate clothes without any impact on my quality of life, for Greggs sausage rolls (freezer find) and for yum yums.
Tomorrow is a spend day as it’s my niece’s birthday and I need to get a card and a balloon.

Greent - Sorry to hear your diagnosis. Sending best wishes to you for your operation.
Don't think i'll manage to read 5 books/month but i'll try for 2. I used to be such a fast reader but not any more. Let's see how this goes and then adjust it if necessary.
Before I downsized 12 years ago i had about 1000 books but finally realised I'd never read them all as I was only reading about 10-12 a year. That was without buying any more. I sent the majority to charity so hopefully someone enjoyed them.
Sadly no NSD today as I had to spend £1.05 on a jar of mango chutney. Drat!
Loading the car in the morning with food for food bank, books and baby clothes for Extra Mile Sierra Leone and a phone charger to my niece as she left it behind tonight.
Got to have a prescription review before I can reorder. Will ring and book a phone consultation.
4K+ steps, a bit of time outdoors walking to the shop, hopefully an earlier night as I only got 5 hours last night then overslept!
Gratitudes: enjoying my book, a sunny day, a nice curry for tea, seeing my niece and her toddler, the fun of starting this new challenge for Feb. x

greent - so sorry to hear about your diagnosis but glad that treatment is imminent ; i hope you are getting lots of support & TLC through a scary time & you will enjoy resting on the chaise-longue with a fluffy blanket over you
I am into the office today so will catch up later and update on the challenges. I had a very spendy day yesterday as stocked up on lots of things i had run out of and bought some cat food; can't seem to buy the big boxes anymore which is annoying and expensive !

greent very gentle hugs (and lots more to come, if we're sharing the chaise longue).
Went to bed and was asleep very early so no check in last night. Didn't feel great when I woke up, obviously ate too many of the 'wrong' foods, so need to take a step up on the healthy eating front. Habit no1: more water (but not too much), Habit no 2: clean my CPAP mask each morning at the same time as I'm getting washed (I do this when I'm on holiday and much better than missing days - need to make more effort to squash annoying minor illnesses). Habit no 3: had yoghurt for breakfast and added porridge oats - good for my cholesterol and more filling. Had 2 cut up apples and last bit of a pack of cheese (bought cheese spread at weekend so cutting out hard cheese as well - gave some to DS2).
Packed my bag and set out to catch a bus (letter posted). Bought an anybus ticket. Stayed on board as far as the church, then walked back to the library (strong wind so just getting across the square was an adventure). Returned 4 library books but did not get more (I have books, may not make 5 a day but 5 a week is doable).
Walked to my bank and ordered a new pinsentry machine - could take 2 weeks but can hopefully borrow someone else's meantime. Cash machine not working, so walked to the nearest bus stop to catch the infirmary bus (forget about blood paperwork when I was asking for other test papers). Felt a bit exposed on Market Street wind tunnel and as I'd definitely missed the bus and had a 20 minute + wait, I started to move in the direction of the bus station (more sheltered). Just as I got there, the bus I'd 'missed' emerged but no time to run back to the next stop - used to be able to do it, especially if the bus got stuck in traffic getting out of the bus station and then at the traffic lights.
Decided to drop that item off my to do list (it was an afterthought) and went to the front of the bus station to wait for the bus going the other way. Caught that as far as Morries, used their cash machine then went inside. Lots of salad items and fruit, quite a few ys'd, including 2 boxes from the salad bar (falafel, boiled eggs, lots of wild rice etc). Less choice than usual, some containers were empty or only had dregs and probably not as healthy a usual (will need to add extra ingredients to dilute the mayo). Added ear drops (the ones I gave mum are at my house and so apparently is the big bottle of olive oil - think I was thinking I wouldn't be doing much cooking and I only use oil occasionally).
Spent £6 on bus ticket and £30.70 on food, but have lots of easy healthy options. So had apples, grapes, a couple of strawberries, red onions, rocket, coleslaw and potatoes (mini boiled ones) yesterday. Hoping to do better today. Only a few minutes wait for bus to corner shop (where I get on and off)
Watched several episodes of my latest serial 'Hope Street' and also phoned the UC query line to ask about mum's money in my bank account. Used the 'path' she suggested and was able to write what I wanted (earlier reporting didn't give me that option).
Grateful for ordering pinsentry machine being much simpler that expected (after struggling with the 'contact us' options online), for getting most of my list done (think I should stick to 3 items with a couple extra that are close by), making a 'frog' phone call, not waiting long and getting the advice I needed, salad and falafels, feel good entertaining drama.
Woken several times in the night and worried about whether I'd contacted the Carer's Allowance people - found the paperwork and yes, I written the date I'd notified them at the top of the letter. I am washed and dressed but not stressed. Hoping to do the Inheritance tax paperwork, get a few more bits of paper sorted and my niece is coming to help sort, so hoping I can get more stuff out of the bungalow today. Bin men have been so can do a trawl round the garden (wind has blown stuff about.

Hugs to all. @Shrewbie thanks for the picture. Spent a day last week teaching Spanish as cover, now that was a disaster. Also the worst week of my life was in Madrid, but that is a very old story. Looks beautiful on the picture. And cold.
