NST February 2022: a month of fives

So far I have exceeded the 5 mins of tidying every day. Not much else, especially not 5 per day anyway.I've stuck to my meal plan, we're trying out a variety of budget meals. Bean burgers yesterday that everyone liked, and a take on stuffed cabbage rolls that only I likedI've continued tracking all my spends. Had a bit of a dilemma at the cinema though as a voucher I had planned to use had expired. Of course, I found out after we had ordered and they had made our ice creams so I had to pay for them! The tickets were technically free though (pay monthly membership) so it could've been worse. One frog has been swallowed - I stayed on the phone to sort my son's bank account, I was on the phone for 70 minutes and the conversation took the last 5 of those. But it's done now. I've finished one of my books, started the second in that trilogy and am halfway through my audio book.12

Cheers cybertortoise your post reminded me to update my spends! I have not got into the habit yet.
Lol at phoebe the (smelly?) cat - that's one way to get to know your neighbours.
No NSD. I have also not done any exercise. The only thing I have done is drunk some of my five a day and meditated. Early finish today (I get every other friday afternoon off). This is my last day working from home so I will probably need to spend this weekend to get a couple of bits of work clothes, but I am taking back a few things that I bought online so that should be cash neutral.
I did declutter a pair of trainers that I sold on w@llap0p app. Did not pay for special postage… perhaps I should have done but to be honest, I’d have paid €5 just to see the back of them. They were a present anyway and it annoyed me that this well-known brand had clearly decided to change suppliers because the usual size I had bought in the past was now miles too big for me and the quality seemed awful. I hate it when they do that. Next to upload photos of fishtank and coffee machine to sell.
Grateful for an easy day, for having free time to deal with some life admin, for loads of sh*t-but-good telly to catch up on this evening.
Have a lovely Friday turtles

Evening turtles. Bit of a frustrating day today dealing with my old employer messing me around. Not confident I'll get paid for the zero hours work I still do but I will chase them.
I was also looking more into the procedure I might pay for. Booked a consultation and will decide after that. I need to stop stressing about this and the pay issue when neither has even happened yet (and may not happen). It has distracted me far too much today and for far too long when it didn't need to. I've wasted far more money on stuff that was of no benefit to me before when I was in a much worse financial position so I need to chill. Anyway, I have lots of hours at my zero hours job over the next few weeks so I should count myself lucky and just crack on.
Not much else to report. I am hoping work and other stuff keeps me busy so I stop overthinking things, it's just unnecessary. I've just had one of those hot chocolates with the solid chocolate stirrer thing, it was a vegan CBD one. It was lush! It's been hanging around jn my cupboard for a long time so I decided to treat myself and it was well worth it.
Sorry for my ramblings turtles!11 -

Evening
Woke up at 5am & couldn't get back to sleep so got up, had tea and toast in bed then logged onto work before 7am. Had a nice chat with boss and am feeling a bit more hopeful about the email saying we all have to be back in the office. Boss is very supportive of wfh so we seem to have reached a compromise .... Achieved a fair bit at work and finished early.
DD1 came round at lunch and ate up some leftovers; was lovely to see her after she had to isolate due to being C+.
After work my brother arrived and we had a walk then I made tea and we had a chilled eve. Don't see him often as he works at sea and lives abroad; mind you, he visits me more often than our other siblings who live in the UK! He's gone back to his daughter's now, a 2 hour trip.
Have acheived another NSD. Managed 10k steps. Kitchen is clean and dishwasher is on.
I'm off for a bath and bed. Heating is off and i have 2 hot water bottles and brushed cotton sheets i can't wait to sink into zzzzzzzz
Gratitudes - impromptu lunch with DD1; good chat to boss; eating all meals from stores except pudding donated by brother; brother for always taking the time and effort to visit; being warm and cosy in my house

Woke early & did my exercises, so that's 3 days out of 4 I've done 😃
Took a lander at work, was chasing a pupil at playtime to stop an altercation, ran round a corner & a 5 year old was coming the opposite way. I knocked them over, then landed on top, scraping my cheekbone on the tarmac & hurting my hand. Spent my time worrying about the pupil more than myself, but was concerned I'd scraped my glasses too, thankfully they're ok. Sore the rest of the day.
Went to L1dl with mum, bought the 48 tins of tuna offer, but just checked the receipt & instead of being £20, they were over £30! Will be taking them back tomorrow.
Staying the night at mum's, we've just watched my dvd of an 80's Norwegian pop group. We've seen them twice in concert. It reminded me of how much me & my best friend used to drool over them & one song was playing on my Walkman, as I left home age 16, as I howled in the bathroom on the boat trip to my new place.
Grateful for not breaking any bones, pupil being ok after 10 tonne Taylor squashed em like a pancake, fun time with mum, memories, gorgeous Norwegian men 😜Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

NSD today as spends have been reimbursed by DD. Had to buy the kitten a Lycra bodysuit (don’t ask!) which I then returned and got the money back. Then I bought some anti itch bitter tasting wipes which he appears to like the taste of so he is now wearing a complicated composition of cone, collar and harness which he has so far failed to get off.
Today I am grateful for finally finding a way to stop the kitten biting his wounds, social services realising that as a self employed carer I am costing them half the price of an agency and upping my pay and OH driving me to the pet shop for the third time!9 -
Good evening
@Thrifty_Taylor hope you are not too sore tomorrow,
@firsview. The kitten contraption sounds interesting. How long does he need to wear it?It was my turn to buy the family takeaway tonight so not a NSD. I also bought a group card for a poorly colleague.
Tomorrow my plan is to clear 8 drawers, I did 6 last weekend. It’ll be a spend day tomorrow but then no planned spending until next weekend.
Grateful for the gif game, for delivery drivers and for BBC3 being back on tv. I’m also already grateful for tomorrows lie in!SPC9 #125 - £816.85

Went to my blood test appointment early (didn't want to be around food any longer). Some problems getting my blood (second arm worked) then straight to the infirmary cafe - 14.5 hours without food is no joke. One bacon barm, 2 toasted teacakes and one small hot chocolate later (managed to savour every sip and mouthful) I felt restored. Meant to get off the little bus in town to deposit some money into my bank account but didn't feel great so carried on to the stop nearest the bungalow.
Alternately felt sick and dizzy and not hungry/ starving at times during the afternoon (also made some bad food choices - although they felt perfect at the time) and woke at 3 am so obviously my blood sugar is really messed up. Making good choices now, including 2 boiled eggs at 3 am.
I'd managed to kill my phone in the middle of the night (knocked a cup of water over whilst I was adjusting my pillows). Thought I'd avoided the electrical items as it fell off the folded up table with my lamp and CPAP machine but some must have got into the phone. Put it in a tub of orzo pasta (the alternatives were dried fruit and fusilli).
Niece and bf arrived, did the second half of getting a chest of drawers out of mum's room and did the electricals run (Hospice shop closes at 3 pm) and more cans to the homeless charity shop. I was going to go to the shed for more garden stuff (had filled half a bag) but it chucked it down, so left it till later. I pushed mum's bed against the patio doors wall and used it to store those of my own things which are ready to go back to mine (the drawers I've been using are half empty, used my best briefcase type handbag to put precious things in, and lots of other stuff - photos of my children and older generations all packed away with a few heavy items at the bottoms of boxes).
Bf did a second run with glassware and oddments, niece stayed as she'd missed an important call from her boss the day before (if she's ready to return to work and how and where that will be) despite being glued to her phone for several hours. Long call but nothing decided yet. I moved a few more bags of my things and did diy and small garden stuff from the shed.
Bf looked in the attic (fortunately empty although I suspect there may be a third C*****mas tree up there. I've cleared the tops of wardrobes, most of the cupboards are empty. They packed their bags with stuff they were taking to her house (for distribution with leftovers to charity). He asked if there was anything else I needed them to do, so I asked for help with clearing the bit of the yard on the back corner of the bungalow so there's lots of room for getting furniture out and trolley/ dolly loads of pots and soil. It only took 5 minutes with 3 of us but it makes a lot of things so much easier (next week's jobs).
I'm aching a lot so will take things slowly - in fact that may be the watchword for the weekend. I will need to get a replacement phone delivered and I do have to go home and see what the state of play is over there (if any progress has been made). I'm going to take my pills, nibble at my salad tray and read for a bit (or watch the last two episodes of my serial - had letter from the tv license people yesterday).
Grateful for lots of help, being able to help lots of charities, making progress, good food, having time (today I have time just to be me).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7
