I had a tooth extraction a few months back and was quite shocked when he announced he had finished about 5 minutes in.Was slightly irritated by the specialist referral and associated delay, but my word the experts are good at what they do.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Meditation, imagining you're back somewhere happy memories were formed and don't forget to tell or remind the dentist you're an anxious patient; assuming it's not an old dentist I'm sure it's included in their training.

Good luckjwil said:Glad the MRI went well. I had a tooth extraction last year, and it was a dentist I was unfamiliar with so I was very worried as like you, I'm very anxious about visiting the dentist generally. It was very straightforward and a relief to have it done. I hope you have an equally good experience.redofromstart said:I had a tooth extraction a few months back and was quite shocked when he announced he had finished about 5 minutes in.Was slightly irritated by the specialist referral and associated delay, but my word the experts are good at what they do.MovingForwards said:Meditation, imagining you're back somewhere happy memories were formed and don't forget to tell or remind the dentist you're an anxious patient; assuming it's not an old dentist I'm sure it's included in their training.

Today will be my first NSD. I need to have these more often.
Sleep is back to normal and I am (touch wood) more or less pain free. I am still stiff and sore and have pins and needles and weird associated discomfort, but I can deal with that as I am SO MUCH BETTER
Once this tooth extraction is out of the way my energy will targeted to improve my health and build bodily resilience for the future.
My eating is pretty healthy and my weight is fine. It is fitness that needs attention.
Things I am considering:
yoga
tai chi
strength training
massage
regular steam
TO DO TODAY- find a yoga/pilates class
- find a tai chi class
- find a weight training class
- book a sauna/steam room
The £200 I took out last month has been put back in a little barrier fund that I want to build, so I can avoid dipping into savings in future.
Having a quiet day as tomorrow will be full on as it is the day of the dreaded extraction. What with the recent MRI and physio I do feel over-intervened with (I know that isn't a real word) However, I also feel grateful I can access healthcare at all.
Wishing you all a lovely BH Monday

So pleased to hear that you are feeling much better and pain has subsided 🤗
I have always fancied tai chi. Thought it would be relaxing and help with my balance but I haven’t been able to find a local one. Hope you find something. I’ll stick with aquafit, not very relaxing but enjoyable & my balance on land seems to have improved 😆

Another here who has had a pain free and non-stressful tooth extraction in the past. It was a Wisdom tooth too! The dentist whipped it out before I knew it!
I'm very unflexible and really need to unstiffen myself. I've done Pilates in the past but didn't really get on with it. My DD has now forced me to try zoom sessions with her own Pilates teacher. I'm just doing half an hours twice a week. Teacher is very good and takes things at a gentle pace. I'm enjoying it now and found it really helps to unloosen my back and stiff arthritic knees!😀Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

1, 2 and 4 sound good. Not sure if a local college would have trainee PTs, there should be a local gym or something at a council leisure centre and they'd have classes.

Well done with your savingsI think finding something you enjoy and sticking at it (as you do with aquafit) is the key. As your muscles get stronger your balance will improve too

The PB win helps.I looked up classes at the local leisure centre. There are a few off peak. I need to look at the most MSE way of attending classes
