Hi DIA - sorry the news wasn't what you hoped. Good to have a clear diagnosis and options. Good also to speak to someone whose had the surgery and come back through the other side able to pick up and go on with their life. I hope you don't have to wait too long. thank you all for your positive vibes and good wishes. Much appreciatedLast night was painful, but now I understand pain will come and go. I am back to using heat patches. Annoyingly they are quite expensive. I’m going to check at the chemist if they are available on the NHS but I doubt it.
I have had time to think about the operation now. I am quite proud of myself for pushing the matter. When the x-ray done by the hospital it showed nothing unusual. I could have left it there, but I didn’t. As a result an MRI was requested. I managed to get through that (despite being claustrophobic) and that showed the true situation. Moral of the story. If you don't think the GP is right, push back...
Ok, so now there are new steps to take: firstly, I have yet to speak to the consultant to discuss the operation. Then, I need to think the options through. Then, I need to consider the time I can expect to wait for treatment. One step at a time.
I am one third through the month and I am doing well budget wise. I should have plenty to get through. I have started a buffer zone with £50 in it. I’m hoping to have money left over to boost this little fund, but I am constantly feeling like ‘treating myself’ and that is ok, within reason, as long as it is mindful treating…
Following @savingholmes I have decided to restart makeup for my wellbeing. So I treated myself to an item of makeup. I used the tester in the shop and looked instantly improved! Now to make an effort to use it daily...
House wise, the new property I saw online is a flat. It is ground floor with private entrance and private garden in a beautiful arts and crafts house. But, I can’t escape my dislike of service charges and leases. So, it is back to the bungalow. It is much shabbier but it would be wholly mine to do with as I wish.
Next week I will try again with the EA to restart negotiations
Wishing everyone a good weekend.

One of my friends had a flat in a converted chuch. It was so stunning it was worth every penny in service charges. It was bigger than my house. The stained glass & pillars were second to none.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I wouldn't consider a lease/service charge. Too many restrictions, not knowing what the people above you are going to be like, and uncertainty with costs of communal repairs etc.I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that the sellers of the bungalow see sense and let you purchase it.Take care of yourself.
