I echo @Chrystal with regard to the flat. I'm a leaseholder of my flat and tbh if I could have afforded a house in my area I would have definitely bought one! We have had several changes of managing agents over the years I've lived here - some worse than others! Service charges go up each year which I can understand but you really have to keep an eye on where the money is being spent! The buildings insurance on the block which has to be paid direct to the freeholder is definitely very expensive - I'm sure I could source it more cheaply myself but we're all in the hands of the freeholder. 🤷♀️
Also there is the question of the neighbours. You never know who you're going to get! At the moment the flat above me is up for sale. The girl who lives there is ok but I'm dreading who will be moving in when it's sold!
There is also no appetite amongst my other freeholders to exercise a Right To Buy!Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

It was so stunning it was worth every penny in service charges. It was bigger than my house. The stained glass & pillars were second to none.Chrystal said:I wouldn't consider a lease/service charge. Too many restrictions, not knowing what the people above you are going to be like, and uncertainty with costs of communal repairs etc.I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that the sellers of the bungalow see sense and let you purchase it.Take care of yourself. A bad night, but on the plus side, I'm very lucky to be able to sleep-in, so I did. I had a bath to ease my leg.
I'm not very hungry so I skipped breakfast and had soup at lunchtime. I made leek, potato, mushroom and lentil soup yesterday. It was supposed to be leek and potato to use up the leeks in the veg box. But I had mushrooms needing to be used so I added those and then lentils for a bit of protein. I used unpasteurised miso as a stock, stirred in to each bowl so the goodness doesn't spoil. It was gorgeous, so remaking it today.
I will go for a walk in a bit as I want a Saturday paper
There used to be a diarist who used to describe her Saturday walk as her Saturday saunter. It will be that for me as I'll be browsing in the charity shops too.
Happy weekend everyone

Hope you enjoyed your Saturday saunter. The soup sounds lovely."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

It took me so long to galvanise myself. When I finally got to the shop my paper was sold out and the charity shops were closed. I will have a paper tomorrow instead.
I did get a few YS bits in MandS They had lots of cakes and chips at 80% off, but I stuck to fruits and protein and avoided crisps and chocolates toojwil said:Hope you enjoyed your Saturday saunter. The soup sounds lovely.

I couldn't sleep again last night. at 4am I could stand it no longer so I got up and remade the soup. Not sure why but it wasn't as good as the last one. At least it gave me something to do! Struggling to stay awake today but don't want to sleep or I will spoil tonights sleep maybe...
I just went for a walk. It was only 5 minutes, so I could say I went out of the door. I meant to go earlier and buy a paper after failing to get one yesterday (I was too late) On the good side at least I had a NSD
Every week I hope for something decent on RM.
I am going to speak to the negotiator EA for the house I offered on. It has been with them at that price for 3 months now surely they can see the price is too high?
Hope everyone has had a relaxing Sunday

I made progress on the EA
After putting off calling the EA for 2 weeks, I called first thing and asked to speak to the negotiator. We had a positive conversation. I suggested it was in all our interests to come to an arrangement as the property had been on since February. He agreed my offer was good and he felt the sellers were not being realistic. It was a timely call as he was due to speak to them today. He is going to talk to them and come back to me. So, I am feeling optimistic again.
The surgery contacted me. I was given a link to access the consultant but no appointments showing so I left a message to be contacted. If I don't hear by tomorrow I will call the secretary. From the information available it looks like it will be mid June before I can have an appointment.
I've just been for a walk and returned with some chocolate
I do feel exercises help a little so still doing them.
Hoping everyone has had a good start to their week.

Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.
