I had a reasonable sleep last night. I seem to be averaging 7 hours on a good night with a snooze during the day, so that is ok. Pain level this morning is low
I am definitely going to pop into the sports shop today. I forgot my swimsuit. If I find one at a reasonable price I will buy it as there is a steam room nearby and I think steam might help my back and joints generally. Also I want a yoga band to help with stretches. I chased up the Chiro but it is too far to travel so I am ruling that out. Once back where I am staying I will resume osteopathy sessions as nearer that area. I have had an in-house physio session but I have yet to get my NHS ongoing physio so will apply for that today. There is a waiting list so best get on it. But overall I think I will need to sort this myself the best I can.
I changed my mind about the art gallery as it involves train travel and I am trying to minimise train travel, as the nerve in my back dislikes the motion of trains. So, all my treats will be local or a bus ride away.
MSE wise, I took out £200 from savings last month that I will be putting back. The big plan is to try and save an additional £1000 to the house fund. If I have small win on the PBs it might be possible.
My book is sitting there looking at me so I will attempt 6 chapters today.
I am thinking through my MRI as I cannot get into comfortable positions. Being flat on my back for up to 90 minutes??!!
I am having lunch after the MRI with a friend at a favourite restaurant. That is my big treat for the BH weekend
Wishing everyone a good day

Hope the pain levels remain low. Lunch at a favourite restaurant with a friend is a lovely thing to look forward to after the MRI."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

The MRI’s are hard. I could not move after my last one & needed assistance to get off the scanner. Hope the MRI went okay and the time with the friend compensated for it. Hope you get the pain under control soon.

Gosh I hope your MRI was less than 90 minutes
I have one every year for a brain tumour but never more than 30 minutes
Other half has a full body one every 3 months due to damage caused by cancer but still never over 45 minutes
I don't think I could do 90 minutes as I am claustrophobic and OH couldn't either due to bone damage meaning he could not lay still for that time
Hope it went well4 -
Thanks @jwil pain levels are staying low for the past few days and the restaurant was fab
Sorry you had a hard MRI @beanielou
Thanks @savingholmes I am especially pleased at being able to make up the savings
Thanks @MovingForwards the food was lovely, especially the pudding
Thanks @Paspatur you are right. My MRI was about 30 minutes I think although I lost track of time and forgot to check as I was euphoric once I was released!
Lots of travel over the past few days. It takes a long time as using bus for the majority of my journeys as trains upset the nerves in my back. However, trains being introduced back in and back sore but not spasming so that is positive.
My big news is I managed my MRI without any drama, or meds for calming. It is done!! Hugely relieved. I had the lovely lunch after with some nice wine
My next major hurdle is a tooth extraction on Tuesday. I'm a very nervous patient with the dentist. (Please no stories of how awful it was for you as they won't be helpful to me at this stage) I've just got to get through it.
In MSE news...
I will be using the remains of the veg box today to cook a chicken and lentil stew that I will eat with mashed sweet potatoes. I will wait until lunchtime to eat as I didn't wake up hungry. Mr L has started to sell cornfed, FR chicken thigh fillets for half the price of MS ones. They are very good.
I seem to be spending every day so committing to two NSDs every week again. Although not today as I want a physical paper to catch up on the election news and the world generally.
A quiet Sunday for me. I will do my exercises, have a short walk to the shops, read the paper, make phone calls and generally potter.
Wishing you all a lovely Sunday

A distraction technique I use at the dentist is to start at 100 and count backwards in 7’s in my head, generally by the time I get into the 40’s I have to start again 100, 93, 86 etc
Good luck3 -
Glad the MRI went well. I had a tooth extraction last year, and it was a dentist I was unfamiliar with so I was very worried as like you, I'm very anxious about visiting the dentist generally. It was very straightforward and a relief to have it done. I hope you have an equally good experience."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
