@abundant1972 and @crazy_cat_lady - another speedy turtle over here too 👋 I repeat to myself sometimes:
’slow and steady’
contrary to the saying ‘wins the race’
’there is no race’
’slow and steady just like a turtle’

Finally achieved NSD#1! Fanfare of trumpets, please! 😂 Never thought I'd get there!
Decided to drag my slow cooker out and use it for first time in 2 years. Wanted to make spiced red cabbage with cranberries to use up things bought for Christmas dinner that never happened. Didn't realise I had set it on 'keep warm' instead of high for first hour so it took nearer 8 hrs instead of 6. What a twit. Definitely need to go to Sp*csavers!
Washed my uniform for work tomorrow. Pegged it out but nothing dried so brought it all back in and kitchen now looks like Widow Twankies laundry. Will iron it in the morning once I get my eyes open!
Planning to try and sell some bits on eBay to help family member towards a school trip, even if it's only a few quid.
Hoping we all have a happy and healthy week. X

Evening
Another speedy turtle here too! Can't believe the weekend is almost over
Woke up yesterday and decided to tackle the frog that is my self assessment, thought I'd just make a start - carried on and on and completed it, big reliefNow the small matter of actually paying what i owe .....
Managed to achieve a task for PT job #2 that i'd been struggling with . Did some cleaning. Then went to nearby town to do another task for PT job #2 and return a coat. Had a small spend as i had a voucher for M£S that was at it's use by date so bought some luxurious face cream and a top in the sale but had to spend £8 to top up my voucher. Then drove 150 miles to collect DD2. Got home at midnight and straight to bed.
Today stepmum has visited. We had a walk and i heated up HM soup for lunch from the freezer. Stepmum did a small shop in the c00p and paid for my couple of items so i managed a NSD - no 4Did some of PT job #1, watched Vera and tidied the kitchen.
Gratitudes - nice visit and chat with stepmum; DD2 being home; DD1 taking DD2 to her exercise class and having lovely sister bonding time
Take care turtles

Fresh week and I have just pigged out on a large chocolate bar. No excuses can be made for my behaviour except tangerines didn't go as well with tea. Will pick myself up and have a healthy tea and a good walk. No wonder my skin is having breakouts.Work is weird, now feel odd being here after 19 yrs, 18 more days to go less probably 2 days holidays. Prefer to be busy than being quiet.Trying to plan a little trip away before I start my new job I have a whole week off. Somewhere not to far to travel with interesting sights to see. hmmm. Air bnb prices are so expensive. One of my neighbours passed away over weekend, known her for 40 yrs. She wasn't the easiest of people to get on with but a character. Upset our local community. Brought home I need to go places now!Realised my savings not grown much since November, transferred few pennies over.Decluttered lots of polystyrene into work bin. Will sort out clothes for charity bag tonight.NSD added 3/16Grateful forFA cup over weekend, love watching underdogs win.Living on own.Friend giving me spare calender so pretty.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/2211

Just a really quick check in from me tonight to report a really long and stressful day at work - trying to scupper my aim of being a less speedy turtle.
However, nsd number 7. I'm home and in my jammies and putting the laptop away when I'm done on here, so won't be spending. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Evening turtles. Very boring day today at work, not much to do as it's my last week, although that isn't much different to the last 5 months of working here! Got a start date of next Monday for my new job. Going to have to set a very early alarm to make sure I make the train until I get back into the habit of getting up and getting ready quickly, I've got into very lazy habits recently! Need to order an oyster card before Monday too, thought I had one but may have thrown it by accident.
In the office tomorrow so I think I'll take the opportunity to buy a few necessities that I've been putting off for a while.11 -
Do you need an Oyster card nowadays, @lcc86? - we got rid of ours (getting the deposit monies back) and just use contactless debit cards to tap in and out of stations - much easier having 1 less card
Busy day at work today followed by taking DS3 for a swimming lesson - we're not allowed in so I have to sit in the car in the car park - it's cold and dark
Very tired and I'm bot sure why - although this weekend wasn't at all restful, so that's maybe it.
Thankful for lots of leftovers to eat - easy food! , DD dealing with wet washing whilst I was at work, Xmas goodies meaning treats still to be eaten....I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £2010 -
Evening turtles
Bit of a slow day at FT job but spent lunchtime in a virtual meeting for self employment job which i enjoy much more. Went to t0sco after tea, the shelves were empty of paracetamol & a sign said the delivery was expected on 14 Jan! They also haven't had large boxes of cat food the past 2 times i've been; did stick to my list and spent £40; popped to Sainz & managed to get some paracetamol. Put loads of soft plastics in the recycling bin. Managed to empty and tidy one cupboard today - some OOD food which went in food waste, mainly those fancy hot choc spoons that we never drink and earl grey tea that none of us likes.
I ordered a coat which arrived today; tried it on and asked DD2 for her views - she commented that it looked like i was wearing a pair of curtains but she was sure i could style it out!! It is now parcelled up ready to be returned via the PO. £50 to be refunded back to me but i still don't have a warm shower proof coat; i'll just have to stay in until spring
gratitudes - DD2 sorting out an eye test for herself; flexible working; hot water bottles

Today I am grateful for a gorgeous sunrise, for a good day at work, for a surprise tea of curry when we thought it was chili, for getting dc's art hwk done, for strong coffee.

Evening Turtles.
I was at my desk pretty much not stop for 11 hours...so much work to do, I take on too much! Far to agreeable to requests. NSD 3/16. Went for a mini walk after dinner (from the batch cooking) I have signed up to a couple of walking challenges on an app one being walk 3,000 steps (or more) a day for 6 weeks, and the other 2022 km in 2022, as well as my own challenge of 50 (3 mile walks or more) before I am 50. I have lost so much stamina and strength over the last 22 months, and gained extra padding. Walking and yoga are my focus on movement wellbeing ing, and I am pretty, much only eating meat/fish and vegetables and fruit for 30 days - today was day 4. No wine... no wine for another 26 days.
Grateful for
- my bobble hat
- delish food to pop in the oven
