Just a quick question before work - are there any minimalists amongst our ranks?
But i do aspire to be better as i'm fed up of stuff. There is a decluttering thread that i'm a member of; i try to adopt the 'touch each piece of paper once' approach but i do love books, photos, twinkly lights, pretty vases, plants, glass dishes, candles, globes etc....

Hugs Mothernerd, rest up or you will be ill. xAbundant glad someone agrees with me re chocolate over tangerines with tea. However I had heartburn rest of the day serves me right. Got 4 bananas, 3 tangerines and an apple on my desk. Fruit mountain seems to build up wheras chocolate never does.No NSD for me treated myself to new face cream liked £10 Tuesday offers in a certain large chemist. oops. Skin is so dry it's itchy in this cold weather and might have sneaked some sale items in as well.Actually only 12 days left in work including my hols. Not sleeping at night well, fear of the unknown I think.Grateful forLighter eveningsDry day put half washing out this morning as was uncertain with big cloud if it would remain dry. Do you think minimalists have to spend more on heating, or warm clothes?Just wondering what they would do without a mass of candles to light, or blankets on the end of the sofa to snuggle down in. Would you only have green apples in a fruit bowl? All the other fruit would have to be 'filed' in a cupboard in neat rows like soldiers on an army parade. Would you even have a fruit bowl? All these questions!Anyway, have to clean stuff and observe how our glorious PM tries to wriggle off this particular hook. Will check in laterMothernerd - masses and masses of hugs.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I've decided to have a little sleep and maybe spend the rest of the day assimilating everything that's happened and working out what to do next. Looks like the funeral will be towards the end of January so no rush on anything really. Yesterday was a very busy day, I was up way past me bed time, some bad news, some very good news (shh it's a secret). Although other people did a lot of the physical stuff, I am not very mobile this morning (and nearly fell) so nanna nap for me.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage7

oh yes f0xh0les i also love blankets (are they the same as throws which is what my DDs have?!) and you also need a chunky wicker basket to store them all in; well you do chez Deni as otherwise the cats monopolise them and cover them in cat hairLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021

yep, throws are sofa blankets in my book! Neatly folded on the arms of the chairs to be used whenever necessary.Bought 2 lovely N3XT branded ones today, £2.50 each in the c/s. Might even cut 1/3 off each and make matching cushion covers, also bought a picture frame ys in the c/s for 38p.Wasted the entire day - first taking the lunchbox DS4 left on the stairs to school and getting stuck in a 'one lane at a time' traffic jam, then came home and began skipping out DS3 and DS4s bedrooms and shunting furniture about a bit. Two bags of slightly too small clothes will leave the house tomorrow. One bag of books to go to the recycling tank, Hopefully this arrangement will finally allow them to keep their s0dding rooms clean and tidy!! (I say that every time, and it has not happened yet). Anyway, they have less stuff, and we are having a shepherds pie and broccoli for supper tonight - all food from stores, but had to buy purple pens (of all things why do the school insist the kids need PURPLE PENS to mark their work in class), so spent £2.30, and £5.38, but cashed out another £5.14 from p/a. So spends very small.Sorry about the bad news mothernerd, and (whispers) ooooh exciting about the good news!! whatever it is, you are well beyond due a whole mass of good news. Hope it is something really wonderful,

Today I am grateful for a coffee out with dh, for dc managing a full day plus clubs, for bacon, for a heavy (for me, at any rate!) session at the gym, for trying a new system for recording our spending/outgoings.
