Evening
They sound like some good challenges DrCarrie. Good luck with them all.
NSD 6/15+ for me today. I went out for a walk at lunchtime and didn’t take my purse, or my phone so no access at all to money! All three rings in my watch were closed pretty early today.Another 2 items sold on Vinted, and two from last week were delivered to the buyer so the money was released into my account. As soon as it arrives, I transfer it straight to my bank and pay it off of my CC.
Today I am grateful for
1) a steak bake for lunch and a pizza for dinner, both from the freezer,
2) my car battery which allowed me to jump start my nephew’s moped so he could take it to the garage,
3) my MS Excel skills
Happy Tuesday when it arrives. It will hopefully be another NSD for me.

Well done folks, some great things are being achieved 😃

Felt below par today, but plodded on regardless. A different start to my working day today, but sure I'll get used to the change of routine in time. Didn't help matters that I'd arranged to drop sewing with a customer beforehand, & he wasn't there! Rushed home from work for another customer coming & never turned up, phoned me an hour later. She's coming tomorrow instead. Very frustrating when folk don't stick to what's been arranged!
On the good news front, I'd emailed the council yesterday to say DS2 had never received his Bursery from last summer, had a reply this afternoon & should all be sorted quite soon 😃 plus DS3's replacement Young Scot card arrived in the post, hopefully he won't lose this one!!
Did some hand sewing this evening & watched TV. Heading to bed soon.
Grateful for a very helpful council employee, my new routine going well, honey lemon & hot water drinksUse it up, wear it out

Good evening 🌓
Had a good day with Dad, and managed to clear some stuff of Mum's though couldn't bring myself to get rid of some of her pictures she's coloured - even though they are tatty and dropping to pieces. So they went back in the box with the zillion other colouring books she's done for now. Found some little things she really liked and am going to get a memory box together to take in when I visit her... and it will be a nice keepsake for me too. Her room is still as it was when she lived at home and we are going to keep it the same for a long time yet. I like to sit in there sometimes and look at the pictures and photos and remember her as she was. Though I miss her so much, and it hurts now - I know a day will come when I will be able to look at photos and it will be almost like she's still around somewhere. It's like that with my Nan now. She could almost still be pottering in her shed and it's like I just haven't seen her in awhile. Time is a funny thing for sure. Huge hugs to you Mothernerd in case you're going through all kinds of crazy ups and downs too right now x
Today I am grateful for:
1) Time with Dad. I should make the most of him whilst he is around.
2) For moving back home when Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and for all the memories I have made since
3) This forum and everyone on it.

Still on NSD7, on the hunt for Alidee sos rolls for the kids' lunchboxes - none at all in the freezers for the year so far, making lunchboxes quite contentious. Anyway, got confirmation I have 6 days of work next week, so will have funds to continue my nefarious deeds (the school run), and as a bonus, will not have to do the school run! They can have a big adventure and go on the bus.

Good morning 🌞
Just a quick question before work - are there any minimalists amongst our ranks? I have been watching a few YouTube creators and I think the lifestyle makes a lot of sense... de-cluttering, only spending on what is needed/meaningful... I think I am probably part way there already but I have been inspired to look into it more and maybe embrace it as a way of living... If anyone lives like this and has any pointers or can signpost me to good resources online then that would be much appreciated!!! 🙏🏻⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

@abundant1972 - I am working towards this way of simplifying life.

Sorry to disappear - laptop needed recharging and had left the charger at mum's. Edited high lights of the past few days, it wouldn't let me post yesterday and only realised this morning that I wasn't signed in.
Saturday was spendy. It wasn't raining when I woke up so pulled on my clothes and delivered my trolley full of requested donations to the YMCA - I'm asking the charity shops what they can take/ most want. Carried on to buy the stationery items I needed (+ more stamps), picked up my puzzle book.
Quick look in two shops yielded an absolutely plain black tunic long enough to cover my bum, which I can wear with one of my full length black dresses and not worry about small holes exposing anything vital. If I can't get out or am not inclined to search further I have something to wear. Did see 2 gorgeous black jackets (one in the sale but not in my size and one full price). It was fake fur (in a snuggly vaguely cossack fashion, mid thigh length and sort of elegant but unobtrusive fabric frog fastenings - the sort you see on cheongsams).
But it was £85 and I have a coat (in answer to the minimalist question). Bought on sale dark blue parka suitable for mountain climbing - a proper winter coat. Paid £80 for it but had been over £200. I also have a packaway owl poncho for when it's chucking it down and the rest of the time I wear layers, jumpers and cardigans. The black coat was dressy in a going out/ special occasion way and I haven't done much socialising - but CBT suggests I should be trying to do more. I am thinking about it.
Treated myself to an all day breakfast in the mall (and 3 other sit downs on benches) then crossed to Tessimo's, sat on their 'smoker's' bench, another sit down inside. Main purpose was to buy more soft drinks but also bought a ys sandwich, a meal deal (only 25p more that the sandwich I wanted for a drink and a snack) green bananas and a few bits (2 from the ys shelf). Intended for tea but more or less saw my through the weekend (complemented what was in the fridge-freezers). More sit downs between the till and the exit and my ankle 'went'.
Freephone taxis were 45 minute wait so hobbled to a club chair and phoned the regulars - 15 minutes, so sat there for ten minutes before venturing outside (I put my head down on the trolley and wept in Tessimo's but no-one bothered me and I recovered).
Taxi driver asked about mum, was shocked, he was the one who took her to the mid December podiatry appointment. He carried all my shopping into the house and told me to look after myself. Gathered the stuff I needed and made it to the third step before letting out a cry that brought DS3 and Beloved running. They took the bags away, I got up the stairs using both hands and my feet, heaped pillows on the bed, asked them to bring other things upstairs later (mainly water but there were other things), crawled onto the bed (had to think about the best way of getting on the bed) and apart from hobbling to the bathroom from time to time, I stayed there until Sunday dinner time. Did find the right contact for the church (have lots of numbers but didn't know who I should be calling) and phoned her.
Will be back later - undertaker is due at 10 am and want to tidy (or hide stuff in the other bedroom) before she comes
