@SomersetSaverSue thank you re the Classic FM programme, I knew someone was doing it and I was about to research who so very timely and helpful. Actually not just to me. It's really nice to see you boosting everyone on the thread for their little achievements. Thank you!
You also did really well to save so much in October and very happy for your health news that it was not a second stroke. I can only relate that feeling to me awaiting various invasive test results last year - such a relief that they were all clear! You must be thrilled with that news. More important than any savings targets xSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Hi Slowly Fading
I'm not a regular You Tube viewer, but have just seen your update. It was very brave.
I have been in your situation and it does get better. You are right that you must look after yourself so that you are able to look after the children as you want to. What's the saying? "You can't pour from an empty cup."
Be kind to yourself, take time and then make a plan. You can do this!!
Sending hugs and best wishes,
H

@SomersetSaverSue Very pleased to hear you have not had a second stroke. What a worry for you. @slowlyfading I saw your youtube update and urge you to take care of yourself after all you have been through over the last year.
Thanks to some early Christmas gift money from my mum, squirrelling and frugality in my personal spends over the last few months I have managed to put away £3000 this month. £2000 from joint account and £1000 from my personal money. Good news as the interest rates we are getting on our savings are finally looking halfway decent. Still nowhere near inflation rate but better than the 0.5% we were getting. I am declaring early for November as I have just emptied our Christmas pot and all spare money will be going towards that between now and December although I am hoping for a last deposit in December after all spends are accounted for.
So #36 enthusiasticsaver declaring £3000 for November making £11800 for the year. #5 reporting in late for October, where is time escaping to? I managed to save £1,536 for that month (form updated) which means I am still on target for the year (just over 83%). My repairs & replacements pot this time went up £400. My planned roof work is still on hold, waiting on a new confirmed date. The first part of some landscaping work has been done on my back garden (the clearance part), so a big chunk will be going out of my R&R pot in November.

I have managed to find a spare £200 to bring me up to my savings target for 2022.
All other spare money will be going towards Christmas, food and drink for the festive period and filling up my now empty savings pots for Christmas next year, our car account now depleted after several months of bills for services, mots, tyres, cam belt and insurance and our holiday account for 2023.
So in total November is £3200. #36. £12000 saved in full for 2022 Challenge now completed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
