After a few months of no savings at all I am happy to report a savings amount for October of £2000 making a total of £8800 saved so far this year. Some of that was money we did not spend during our Canadian trip in September so not all accumulated in October but over the three or four months we were saving spending money from May to September. No big holidays planned for a while so hopefully we can get back on track. Our income increases next year as well as an extra pension starts paying out.
So enthusiasticsaver number 36 declaring £2k for October. Hi everyone, as anticipated I'm reporting -1394.98 for October as we've paid the balance on our long break in The Canaries. We head-off later this week after my very last day *ever* in the office on Wednesday, before FIRE.
I'll post figures at end of Nov & Dec - more negative figures coming up, as we're shifting from 'saving mode' into 'spending mode'...feels weird!
Hope everyone is doing ok.Save 12k in 2013-2014-2015-2016-2017-2018-2019-2020-2021-2022 - then early-retired.4 -
#14 reporting £347.36 for October. If we had not won £300 on PB it would have looked miserable. We have two separate vet's bills on CC in next month's so not hopeful.
Poor Stealth Cat is stressed by pup chasing and barking. Has developed Cystitis and it is recurring, just two weeks later. So with fireworks imminent I think it best to get her another jab (£100+ a go). No, she isn't insured, she is an indoor girl and over 12.
Meanwhile Pup ran through glass in the grass at the park near my Mum's and has a bad cut through pad on paw and is in third week of wearing cone of shame to stop him licking. He was sedated, glued, stitched, brought round, dressed, jabbed with antibiotics, pain relief and given the cone. The adjacent heel pad is bright pink where he licked off the hard bit that protects it and we may need it to be looked at more closely to check they did not miss a shard of glass as that is definitely worrying him. The emergency vet in Scotland was over £200. He is insured; a basic policy primarily for 3rd party liability. It will be his first experience of fireworks this week. Not really looking forward to that. He barks at aliens already. Noisy aliens could be awful for the cat.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

I hope Pup's paw clears up soon, that sounds very worrying. I also hope that the fireworks aren't as bad as anticipated. I can't remember if it was here or somewhere else I read that Classic FM are doing a special evening of music on bonfire night, specifically for pets. Don't know if that might work for them.Well done on your PB win! After a good run of wins earlier in the year I have had no luck lately - fingers crossed for us both tomorrow!3 -

Great numbers Gem-gem, especially given the planned spend.

Well done on making any savings when you have only just moved, Merlin's_Beard! All those bits and bobs all add up, don't they?
