enthusiasticsaver said:After a few months of no savings at all I am happy to report a savings amount for October of £2000 making a total of £8800 saved so far this year. Some of that was money we did not spend during our Canadian trip in September so not all accumulated in October but over the three or four months we were saving spending money from May to September. No big holidays planned for a while so hopefully we can get back on track. Our income increases next year as well as an extra pension starts paying out.
So enthusiasticsaver number 36 declaring £2k for October. Update form done.
Well done, enthusiasticsaver, especially for being disciplined to plough back in the spending money and not blowing it all on holiday. Hope you had a great trip!

Van_Girl said:Reporting £1611.60 for October. Very happy with that and still on track. Target is definitely going to reduce next year though, it's a lot to keep up with!
I think we're all going to be in the same boat, Van_Girl, with working out what's possible next year unfortunately, Well done for keeping the focus this year and for keeping on track when costs are already up so much

Merlin's_Beard said:I'm sorry to hear you're still being affected by the stroke Sue, but very glad you have previous savings to draw on - one less thing to worry about and a reward for previous hard work!
Thanks, Merlin's-Beard, that's very kind. You always wish you had more, though - just perhaps something ingrained to me by my Dad and not necessarily that healthy an attitude!

ForestBluebells said:#4 reporting £1506.42 for October, barely any freelance income this month and many vet bills but also put in an insurance claim so had some back, still much less claimed than I pay for my premiums.I did pay out a big sum to replace my heating system which is being installed next month but since my mum gave me that money and it’s not come from my savings I’m not counting that as a minus.Still feel like I’m far far away from achieving my goals in a timely fashion or ever being able to afford to move unless inheritance makes that possible. Will keep trying my best. I’m in a much better position than I was when I first started saving hard
Considering you had barely any freelance income and vets bills, that is an amazing amount to save, ForestBluebells. Keep going!

#56 reporting £1,340.84 for October.Pleased with that as I was unexpectedly paid near full pay in October and although I had to dip into some savings following September's pay not being as much as expected, it wasn't by as much as I was concerned about. Helped by a 1 year saver maturing and paying £397.59 of interest. I have put this into another 1 year account whilst the rates were good. We're hoping to move house this time next year so I don't want to tie it up any longer.Still missing target by some margin which I am unlikely to make up but given what's happened health-wise this year, that's not unexpected and this has given me some focus during my recovery. Still haven't got off my backside to sell the clothes - too much of a challenge at the moment I think mentally perhaps.I also didn't have a second stroke, so that's the best news.Keep going everyone, you're all doing amazingly! I am in awe at the amounts some of you are able to save, but I suspect you are having to work very hard to be in a position to save that much.5
