Hi all,
I had been looking at So Energy also to switch to but was undecided as it would be a bit more expensive but I could fix it and know where i was but alas its been pulled so looks like staying with EDF for now unfortunately..

In case you don't see it in the EDF two year fix thread this is a copy of my post tonight re Utility Warehouse
Utility Warehouse also has a good fixed tariff, certainly for Gas only, so long as you don't mind changing your broadband to them and adding a mobile SIM. They are quoting me 7.432p kWh and 15.813p / day SC fixed to 31st Jan 2023. The broadband ultra plus 63mb is £27.90 a month and 5gb mobile sim is £12 a month. Obviously will have early termination fees on existing broadband (and on current mobile plan if you choose to port your number across) but they appear to offer up to £200 towards costs of these early terminations if you take a full bundle (which you can customise to an extent rather than their headline bundle).Having crunched the numbers and assuming at least a 20% hike in capped rated in October I am quite tempted as, even allowing for the extra cost of BB over my current deal and the extra cost of the mobile SiM which I don't really need and I wouldn't cancel my current SIM, I reckon I'll be better off over the period to end of Jan 23 (especially as with a 3 week switching period the gas won't go over until nearly the end of the current cap period). The downside risk if cap doesn't go up in October is fairly minimal and at least i would have the two highest use months of next winter fixed at better than the April cap which removes some angst should things continue to get worse due to Ukraine-Russia situation. Be better if they had a longer term fix but don't appear to currently.Ummm decisions, decisions1 -
Concerning "Smart meter installation safety check" on the customer page. Would EDF check the gas smart meter only whereas the electricity supplier would check the electricity smart meter only?
Would EDF check my smart currently dumb gas meter?I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0 -
1st of March on Tuesday and still no sign of the Zog credit and no first bill either. Now 8 weeks since Zog produced their final statement.
I can understand EDF's 6 monthly billing cycle for existing (long term) customers but one would think that they should raise a first bill for SOLR transfers to give customers an idea of whether the DD set up is adequate or not.1 -
I've now had my final bill from EDF (I switched back to Octopus where my electricity is) and my balance is £0. I still haven't been charged from the 4th to the 15th December, though, and neither have I seen any sign of my ~£20 credit from Zog.0

I am pleased to off EDF's books but we are still arguing about a 70p discrepancy (in EDF's favour) re the DD tariff adjustment. EDF is adamant that its calculations are correct but offer no calculations to check: it is just a single line adjustment on the bill. EDF seems to be determined that this matter should go to The Energy Ombudsman.

Given how readily energy companies seem to give out £30-£50 compensation to get rid of a complaint it seems strange that they won't just give up over 70p, especially given the cost of it going to ombudsman. Strange beasts some energy companies!

just out of interest, as anyone who has changed their direct debit to Whole Amount (monthly) lost the direct debit link that used to be in the side menu ?I changed it over the weekend (via Chat) and I no longer see that link, but it is now showing a credit balance on the home page (not the Zog credit, but the credit from the 2 existing monthly budget direct debit payments already paid).0
