I cant believe this nonsense is still going ion? EDF are totally useless.

Has ANYONE had there credit balances transferred to EDF Energy?

Tonight been told to take up with Ombudsman as the agent on the phone couldn't answer my questions. He came out with the biggest nonsense that I could answer back on.

I am getting worried by the day that these vultures are not honouring the OFGEM agreement.
Settle down - we'll get it when we get it.

Easy said than done when the credit is to help pay the winter bills,

Then don’t let the credit build up so much - stick it in an instant savings account instead.

Actually I have just received a credit from EDF, although it’s from an adjustment to my final bill with them. No sign of the Zog credit (about £20).

Well I have learnt that mistake. My credit balance with Zog was £500.00 (my winter bill) and as soon as this money appears if it does I will certainly be ditching EDF Energy.

There attitude totally stinks when I have provided my final statement, emails from Zog  saying they issue meter readings and final balances to EDF in January and more or less have stated there is no time frame when we see these credits.

That is my winter money for my gas and there attitude has just been appalling.

They have said take it the ombudsman but wont make a jot bit of difference.

They shouldn't have been allowed to take on accounts if its going to take months and months to honour customer balances.

(Next time I will go to a supplier and pay the bill EACH month)

If you haven't already done so get onto Chat (or call them) and request to be put onto the Variable whole amount monthly Direct Debit.  You should then get monthly bills (well in theory.....not always so far in practice) and pay each one in total so you don't build up another large credit balance.

Unfortunately, at the moment, there is really nowhere else to go to get away from EDF at the moment without switching to a much higher fixed tariff with another supplier.

Not my experience on being moved from Zog.   I've just opened a case with the Ombudsman as EDF refused to transfer me to a variable whole amount bill by direct debit, and appear to be charging variable rates above the cap.    On the plus side I use enough gas that the 2 year So Energy fix with a 40 early exit fee was attractive enough to start a switch away from them today.

I'm mulling over that one as well and am just putting a spreadsheet together to try out some what ifs.  Today's events have made it look a lot more attractive.  Out of interest what switch date have they indicated as clearly the later in March the switch occurs the less the excess cost against current cap?

I must admit I'm very surprised at their refusal to move you to variable DD especially as they talk about it in their Help section and I had no issues getting switched from budget to variable DD on chat.

As far as I am aware they are not yet charging above the current cap (my smart meter still shows the tariff as current cap) but have just changed the tariff info panels to show the April cap early but without explaining that it only applies from 1April.

Why did they refuse to change you to direct debit whole amount? They are currently charging correct cap prices but are showing the new ones for easy comparison to their current fixed tariffs

Now it is 12.473p per kWh and £100 exit fee. Think that will be a hard pass.
