Can’t see how you can be conned into it, you just do a comparison & if it suits do it, if not don’t. Simple reallybrewerdave said:
Or it could be that EDF are just as incompetent as BG et al. and are trying to con us into accepting a fix !!Curiousgirl1 said:Could be they’re just showing what the new rates are going to be from April so you can compare against the current fixed prices & get in quick before they change them again once the new prices come into effect0 -
On chat now and the guy at the other end is insisting the tariff labels are correct even tho the price per kwh has increased by 3.27p !! He is saying that there will be ANOTHER rise in April !! God give me strength !!Curiousgirl1 said:

edit - I've challenged his understanding so he's asked for a moment but hasn't come back !!0 -
Their chat is not the best. They’re off shore & don’t have a clue. Ring 03332005101.0

I suggest that EVERYONE who has been switched from Zog goes on to chat to complain about this tariff issue. The guy on chat finally came back after 20 minutes and is blaming a "system error" which he has raised with his superiors. He assures me that the rates that were on my letter of confirmation for the DD set up ,will be applied until April 1st . I await the first bill with interest !!!0

Was supposed to get my next bill on 16th (tomorrow) according to the web portal so I was hoping I'd find out a) whether I'd been credited back the overcharge for non-DD rate and b) whether they are trying to use the post April 1 cap now, but having just looked the next billing date has now changed to 17 March.Do they have a clue what they are doing..... rhetorical question as I think we all know the answer to that 😅1

As I am sitting here slightly bored recovering from an op I thought I'd try Chat. Raised the issue of the incorrect April cap tariffs being posted on accounts and they were apologetic, confirmed that I would be charged the current rates until end March and is going to flag it up to the relevant team to correct the information posted up.
Asked about why I hadn't received the refund for the overcharge of non DD rates on my bill to 20 Jan and they are going to credit back the whole bill and raise a new bill as of today's date at the correct DD rates....we shall see tomorrow if that happens and if they get that right.
They reckon all Zog credits should be applied by end of next month (again we'll see.. )

Shedman said:They reckon all Zog credits should be applied by end of next month (again we'll see.. )That leisurely pace really is unforgivable, especially as Zog had only about 11,700 customers. It seems to have been a well run company as evidenced by the administrators generating the final bills very promptly. Assuming that my final bill date of 22 December is typical, that means that EDF are processing only about 126 per day on average, which would equate to just one full time staff member.OK, that's only a highly simplified 'back of envelope' calculation, and EDF do have other SoLR customers, but clearly they need to try a lot harder in such circumstances and to bring in some temps. Many SoLR customers may well be in financial difficulty if they had accumulated a credit balance when Zog went bust: Christmas expenses, much higher DDs from EDF, record petrol / diesel prices etc, so EDF's apparent attitude that 'it takes as long as it takes' is just not good enough.Ofgem really must set some realistic SoLR standards so that future failures of energy companies don't cause so much needless grief. Making Variable DDs the default (with the ability for customers to opt out) would be a good start.0

Just logged into my account and see the increased chargers, went onto chat and they advise they put the prices there so I knew what they would be from 1st April. I told him i was expecting it to say Current price: .... and then From 1stApril new prices ....
They are taking it as feedback and will pass on to the technical team.
He assures me I will be billed at existing prices until 1st April and then the new prices.

I am guessing here but I think that EDF may be waiting to apply the SoLR charge (5th to 14th December) and Zog final bill credits. Having spoken to EDF on another matter today, the CS staff are not up to date on what their SoLR (or Solar as they call it) team are up to. CS still think that they are waiting for Zog Final Bills!Shedman said:Was supposed to get my next bill on 16th (tomorrow) according to the web portal so I was hoping I'd find out a) whether I'd been credited back the overcharge for non-DD rate and b) whether they are trying to use the post April 1 cap now, but having just looked the next billing date has now changed to 17 March.Do they have a clue what they are doing..... rhetorical question as I think we all know the answer to that 😅1 -
Hi,
How many of us still haven’t had a first bill? I provided the opening reading on 14/12, set up the direct debit around 23/12 and my account is still showing no bill due - requested one via chat early Monday morning and was told it would be generated overnight. There was nothing there this morning so requested it again today. My account is now also showing the new higher cap unit rate, etc.
Keeps reminding me why I moved away from the big suppliers….
