    There is no need to panic unless it is about paying the higher rates. The tariff will almost certainly be around the Ofgem cap - around 4.1p per kWh and around 26p SC. That will be a significant increase for some, although in my case I only had two months left on my fix so I was resigned to paying this rate before too much longer
    I was already paying 26.25p sc on the 2 year Mercury 24 v30 fix.
    @Patr100

    Yes agree, that's the same tariff I signed up to in March this year.

    The transition will take a few weeks and any credit you have will be transferred to the new supplier after your account is set up.
    I haven't seen any gas tariffs on different supplier sites lower than 9p kwh, is 4.1p kwh correct?

    Yes, ignore fixes at present as they reflect very high prices in wholesale markets. The SOLR will be obliged to offer a tariff in line with the Ofgem cap. This will see us through the winter, then things get interesting when the cap is raised in April. Hopefully with wholesale prices for next Spring onwards already showing a sharp drop, there might be some better deals around then.

    Good to see that Zog has already entered end of month smart readings into my online account.
    How do you see this information in your online account?

    You have to drop an email to Zog asking for access to their beta portal. I doubt you'll be able to do that now that they've ceased trading, though.
  • Oh dear, this is going to be a bit messy given you can’t really login online to check your account. Also they took a direct debit just yesterday!

    I cancelled my Zog direct debit yesterday and this morning I received an email warning me I needed a DD set up or I would incur a fee of £35. Is it safe to ignore this automated message now Zog is no more?
    Zog is still very much there, they don't just vanish when they go into administration, they are simply operating under different management and with different objectives but most importantly perhaps for you, they will be operating without an energy supply licence shortly...
    As long as you do not owe them money for energy you have used up to the point where they lost their licence they cannot insist that you keep the DD running.
    If you do owe them money then I'd leave the DD in place, if they owe you money then you can cancel if you want and there should be no penalties applied to the account as your contract with them will end when they lose their licence at the time the SoLR is appointed.
    There is a slight risk in cancelling the DD before the SoLR is in place though...

    I used this link for access to their BETA.  Just enter your username and password, and you will have access.

    My neighbour, who was also with Zog, also used this link

    I contacted Zog and they gave me a link so all good now.  It really is a great shame that this excellent company has been forced into administration by the crap behaviour of others

    I was very unhappy to receive the same email this morning, automatic or not, in the circumstances. I have a credit balance already, without another payment going out. I replied by email and notified them as much. Debbie confirmed that it was automatically generated, but was not prepared to say that the fee would not be charged, or make any comment at all about anything. Understandable in a sense, but still...
