Neil_Jones said:Shame about Zog, excellent experience, I took a two year fix in June which as it turned out looking stupidly cheap (just under 3p per kWh). Couldn't fault them service wise, billing wise, anything wise really. What a breath of fresh air they were.In some ways the billing system is one thing I will miss. Feed them some readings at the end of the month and you got a bill 8-13 days later guaranteed that actually used said reading. You got your 49 day window notification on the first of those 49 days, none of this having to work it out yourself. And wonderfully, if you moved away to another provider, you got a final bill from Zog and a credit refund within days, none of this faffing around still outstanding chasing it up eight week nonsense.Bye Zog
Zog, unfortunately, had their supplier pull the plug on dealing with UK suppliers because it was clear a month ago they were going to be supplying gas to companies that were unlikely to be around much longer. As Zog appear to have hedged their supply entirely with this company they were up the creek without a paddle as they were never going to be able to hedge gas for existing customers at the rates they'd agreed with CNG.
I'd say Zog have been quite honourable here, unlike, for example, Neon Reef, who signed up a bunch of new customers at below cap rates when the cap was the cheapest other deal on the market. Presumably to personally enrich the directors by allowing it to limp on for a few more weeks.
Zog's supplier pulled the plug yesterday and they threw the towel in today. Fair play IMO.4 -
Once things get “back to normal” whatever that is I hope zog come back to the market1

spot1034 said:There is no need to panic unless it is about paying the higher rates. The tariff will almost certainly be around the Ofgem cap - around 4.1p per kWh and around 26p SC. That will be a significant increase for some, although in my case I only had two months left on my fix so I was resigned to paying this rate before too much longer

I wonder if its worth a shot for those of us that were also with NR and are being switched to British Gas on their Welcome to BG tariff that 'suggests' its rate is guaranteed until end of July could request BG to switch our gas from Zog to that tariff as well?Failing that, and if we do coincidently get SOLR'd to BG, be interesting to see if they offer same sort of deal with tariff 'fixed' for 6 months.
Just some early morning musings...0 -

I cancelled my Zog direct debit yesterday and this morning I received an email warning me I needed a DD set up or I would incur a fee of £35. Is it safe to ignore this automated message now Zog is no more?0
