Zog has gone 😢

The SoLR will be limited by the cap in the same way as it has been for those with gas at other recent failed suppliers, that means you should expect to be paying at or extremely close to the capped gas prices..kev2009 said:
Let's hope we got someone who's prices are reasonable in current climate and not the highest available
I did take some of my credit out last year I think as it had started to build up but it's slowly been building up again so fingers crossed I'll get that back/transferred to new supplier. You balance made up of payments you have made to Zog is protected will be most likely be transferred to the appointed SoLR so will eventually show up as a credit on your account there.0 -
Thanks, once a SoLR is appointed and they get all my details and its setup with them, can I then switch suppliers or do I need to wait for the credit to come into SoLR account first before switching elsewhere, if more favourable prices elsewhere?
Thanks

ThanksThe safest time to switch is after the supplier ID has been updated to show you are with the SoLR, you can check that online:You do not have to wait for your credit to catch up with you, but if you switch before that happens it can result in an additional delayI suspect it is going to be a moot point though, as the chances of finding a better gas deal than the capped tariff in the short term, is unlikely...

It is a shame for Zog employees who will lose their jobs - i was with them for a while...always good service and a decent price.0

Good advice. I am doing nothing until March. By then, we will know what the new capped price will be. Moreover, I would expect to see the wholesale market stabilising as Europe moves towards Spring and Summer which should lead to an easing of fixed price tariffs.MWT said:kev2009 said:Thanks, once a SoLR is appointed and they get all my details and its setup with them, can I then switch suppliers or do I need to wait for the credit to come into SoLR account first before switching elsewhere, if more favourable prices elsewhere?

A sad day
particularly since (unlike certain other energy companies) Zog seem to have done everything right but have been let down by the failure of their hedging company.Regarding the number of customers, I joined in early September and have account number 54xxx so they've only had that many customers total throughout their time trading. 12k live accounts doesn't surprise me.N. Thanks, Yes I agree, I suspect whoever we move to will be pretty much the same as anyone else so I too will likely remain until March as that is when I originally took out my 2 year fixed. I also did my Elec then as well so I'm currently thinking stick with whoever until March and then re-assess and maybe just go for a 1 year fixed to bring my gas and Elec back in line and then look to renew both again for 2 years, maybe even go dual fuel this time as I've always kept them separate due to good prices from Zog and them being a good company.MWT said:kev2009 said:Thanks, once a SoLR is appointed and they get all my details and its setup with them, can I then switch suppliers or do I need to wait for the credit to come into SoLR account first before switching elsewhere, if more favourable prices elsewhere?

Obviously all Zog's customers were with different suppliers for gas and electricity, and it will be interesting to see when things settle down whether it will still be advantageous to go with separate suppliers or will dual fuel deals have a greater attraction.0

I've been with So/Zog for 5 years. It looks like So Energy will be ok, but time will tell.spot1034 said:Obviously all Zog's customers were with different suppliers for gas and electricity, and it will be interesting to see when things settle down whether it will still be advantageous to go with separate suppliers or will dual fuel deals have a greater attraction.1 -
Annoyingly (with my 20/20 Hindsight glasses on) I switched in June from a 1 yr fix with SO to a 2 year fix with Zog thinking that would be a better long term option ....c'est la vieChaunceyGardiner said:
