Zog has gone 😢

@brewerdave Which reminds me, I had recently (prob Sept before all this kerfuffle, where does time go?) asked Zog for a refund of some of my credit, and been turned down, as per their Company policy. I accepted that, especially as we were just entering the heavy Winter period.0

this is sad news indeed... renewed my deal with them in October for 2 years - so think I was paying slightly over SVR in the short-term, but if they could have survived, I would have saved when the bills go up next year... c'est la vie.I too had submitted readings yesterday and am in credit.

@Deleted_User - Just checked online banking - Zog collected their DD today !!0

It would have been requested through the banking system several days ago, and you will not lose anything as credit will be transferred to the new supplier.brewerdave said:@Deleted_User - Just checked online banking - Zog collected their DD today !!0 -
Been a Zog customer for many years. My 2 year fix only had 2 months left but sad to see them go.Slightly complicating things is we are selling our house (completion start of January) so need to move the utilities accounts. Hopefully we can get transferred to a new supplier then.0

Managed to squeeze onto a 2 yr fix with Zog literally days before Hub (Gulf) went under as as my fix ended anyway (Aug 21). Now looking at probably double per kWh with whoever the SoLR turns out to be.Anything we can be doing to make our lives easier when the SoLR is known and been in contact?0

I would suggest you all cancel your DD straight away and set up a new DD with the SOLR supplier when known.0

The price will be at or near the Ofgem cap, so 4.1p ish per kWh. I doubt you got a rate that was half that in August.tim_p said:Managed to squeeze onto a 2 yr fix with Zog literally days before Hub (Gulf) went under as as my fix ended anyway (Aug 21). Best advice is to stay on the tariff we'll be put on for the next few months but be aware that it'll rise sharply either in April or at the end of a six month period - this will be an interesting detail to look out for.0 -
Really sad news. I'd just uploaded my meter reading before hearing the news - I'd gone straight into the meter reading page (bookmarked) so didn't see the announcement on their front page. I always tend to submit a reading on the 1st of the month.
I've read all of the ofgem guidance - but am unclear as to what now happens with this meter reading? Will I be billed up until today on the rates I had with Zog, with the new supplier's rates applicable from today onwards?0 -
You have probably got a few more days at Zog rates. The new SOLR will be announced probably around next Monday - might be a bit sooner but most are taking that sort of time. If it were to be Monday the new supplier would probably be deemed to have taken over the previous day. However that is just going by what has happened in other cases recently.geraint83 said:Really sad news. You'll be asked for a reading by the new supplier.2
