Tbh, I did not even know that there was another, beta, better, web site. I have just been using the original, very basic version to submit my meter readings. Probably not worth registering for the beta one now, and having to dream up yet another password.0

Why is electricity generation so dependent on gas, especially if gas is supposedly being phased out?But Germany get to use their dirty polluting coal fired generating stations until at least 2038 and seemingly not answerable to anybody including Gobby Greta. Are many people gluing themselves to the Autobahn?. In fact in the first half of 2021 Coal was Germany's primary source of Electricity, and wind generation was at its lowest level since 2018.Unfortunately we are the only Country swallowing this guff. We have made ourselves a sole Martyr to a global problem DECADES ahead of many other Countries, leaving ourselves energy bereft in the process after wasting £billions on Wind Turbines which work about as efficiently as our Politicians, which is why the energy companies pitched a big fit when one - just ONE inter-connector with France burned out a few months ago. That is how finely pitched our grid is - that the loss of one relatively small method of importing power throws the network into a panic. If we had built Nuclear Power Stations and kept our Coal Fired Power Stations online for another 10 - 15 years instead of wasting it on pointless, inefficient Wind Turbines, then our reliance on Coal would be less and the impact of these price increases would be reduced. We are being sold indulgences - just like in the middle ages, and if they continue down this folly we'll all end up Bankrupt and living back in them."Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich3

Same gas and pipes... Someone somewhere is making a fortune out of this mess... and the UK population.Whilst I don't consider myself to be a conspiracy theorist, I do think we are being played for mugs:- China accidentally releases a virus with global impact, so countries respond by buying millions of testing kits from them.
- Russia has a gripe with the West and puts up its gas prices, so folks just give them more money.
- There's a worldwide silicon tech shortage and most of it is produced in Taiwan, which is expected to be annexed by China within this decade.
I do hope ours and other governments are thinking about how to mitigate these risks.0 -
